Cute restaurant with nice atmosphere, came in with my boyfriend at 11 pm, we were told to seat ourselves then were not greeted by our server for almost 20 minutes, when we were finally able to order our drinks and meals. Food was fast and pretty good quality for the price, however our server did not refill our waters during our meal, or give us napkins or cutlery which we couldn’t ask for as she never checked to see how our food was. Overall not a terrible experience, just hope to have a different server in the future. Bonus, double caesars for $6 on Sundays 🙂
Didn’t get to try the food, but I really enjoy the cocktails, even though they are a bit pricey for a student friendly pub (~$10 for most of them). That being said, it’s a nice pub, and a good place to hang out, not too far from the uOttawa campus. My only complaint is that where we were sitting there was this uncomfortably cold draft in the corner, and although that’s nice during the day, the staff didn’t turn it off, and it was a chilly evening so that wasn’t pleasant… but other than that, it’s an alright place
Even though the food is cheap, it doesn’t mean that the quality should suffer for it. Ordered the tomato-avocado melt with a side salad. Where do I begin? The bread was stale and very difficult to bite into because it was so hard, the avocado looked like it was over a week old (grey-ish black in colour), and the salad was horrible. I didn’t finish the plate after a few bites. How are customers expected to eat stale food? There are better quality $5 restaurants in Ottawa!
Just a quick late dinner a few days ago. The placed was pretty packed at 10:30 pm but it was a Friday so that makes sense. My boyfriend ordered the nachos and the cheeseburger spring rolls and I chose the quarter chicken with fries. The best part is definitely that all the items are 5.95$ !! And the sizes are pretty decent. The nachos were pretty standard and the chicken was a little dry but still… 6 bucks!My boyfriend also had the cheeseburger spring rolls which are spring rolls stuffed with ground beef and cheese. I had a bite but it was just too greasy. I could feel my arteries clogging as I took a bite. I still enjoyed the evening out and those prices are pretty unbeatable.
Very good time at the bar. Awesome staff and great food. Must admit an odd yet cool vibe. Came by to have a pint with a friend and grabbed their burger. WOuld recommend.
Every time I go back to Laurier social house I think it will be better but it just gets worse. The food is HORRIBLE, tasteless, and low in quality and I am always disappointed in what I order. Save your $ and head over to pub 101. Their $5 menu is way more worth it.
It’s tough to go wrong with pizza, but sadly it’s the case here. Ordered herb and mushroom pizza, and it was bad to say the least. Ordered wings and poutine and they were equally bad. Service did not impress either. Despite it being 5 seconds away from my house, don’t think I am coming back here again.
