Soooo delicious!. Mukut is my place to go for Indian food in Ottawa. I’ve been to Shafili & Haveli and they can’t hold a candle to this place. I ordered the vegetarian combo which is a dahl, veggie curry, briyani, naan, pekoras, and a desert. Everything on my place was absolutely delicious. The Pekoras were to die for – sooo freaking good. The dahl, veggie curry, briyani were absolutely steller. And the desert which can be described as a sweet rice pudding was freaking delicious. The staff were also very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for good Indian food in Ottawa
Mukut. Always nice to me when I go alone.They are ok when I only order naan and dhal soup. No fuss about a small order. The soups is so good and the naan too. A friend hosted a birthday party there and we had the whole place to ourselves. They put on a big buffet style for us. We even put Indian music on. Thanks.
Filled me up!. I’m surprised to see people mention the portion sizes are too small, we got filled up no problem. We had a platter with a variety of Indian food; a samosa, pappadum, naan, a big dollop of rice, gulab jamun, several kababs, and some curried dishes. Our server was attentive and friendly, although didn’t have really anything to recommend. We were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food in the platter and it filled up two diners for less than $40. Would definitely go again.
Terrible
Portions are Too Small. Went to this restaurant with two other people. Usually when I go to an Indian restaurant, ordering a dish per person plus ordering Naan and rice is sufficient and sometimes there are even leftovers. At Mukut, the portion size appeared to be half the size of most other places that I have been to in the past. As a result, we had to order another dish. As well, each dish is not inexpensive given the small portion size – about $12 per dish. The food was pretty good but given the portion size and the cost of the dishes, I will not be going back.
I visited the new location in Orleans with a groupon. The staff was extremely friendly, the food was great, but the portion sizes were not very big. I have been trying out a lot of Indian food restaurants in the city lately, but I felt as though I got less for more. I would return though, definitely worth a try.
Great food!. We have been to Mukut many times and have never been disappointed. The naan bread is to die for. The staff are friendly. We have tried many of the curry dishes and they are delicious (especially the Chicken Dansak!) The restaurant seems quiet when we are there, but the food is always good!
