I was hoping to get an authentic Indian food and I would rather say I got disappointed. The food was non-spicy and plain.They should have asked the level of spiciness while they took the order.
Ordered chicken koorma and my spouse ordered methi gosht. Both were incredibly greasy. Nice flavour for both, but the dishes were simply swimming in oil. Also ordered pappadum and it, too, is pretty greasy and comes with no sauces. I even asked for some tamarind or other sauce and was told they had none. With so many Indian restaurants in Ottawa to choose from, I won’t be returning here.
Enjoyed the food! I don’t know why others rated it as low, as it is a very pleasant place with pleasant food and reasonable cost. Not the best I ever had but I’d go back and next time I will ask for more spices as I like my Indian food spicier. The sag lamb was a generous amount and the eggplant dish was excellent. I guess they just play it safe for North American palates ? The atmosphere and the service was excellent.
