What it lacks in pizza it does not make up in service. Have been there 3 times, and all three times they messed something up. The pizza is amazing really. And the smell of the wood stove when you walk in is intoxicating. Trouble is when something goes wrong, and all three times it was their fault, they do nothing about it and treat you like you’re some kind of idiot for pointing it out. The guy making the pizza is easily confused, their system for ordering is horrible and has no order to it. So you can sit there and watch other people who came in after you get their pizzas before you. Yesterday, when they had only three orders for pizza I was accused of not having filled out a paper. Then they brought me the wrong pizza and when I mentioned this the waitress just shrugged at me and said ‘well there was no paper’ and walked away. I was not smug. I was not angry. I was not condescending – and believe me I wanted to be. But now I will no longer be a customer and I will no longer brag to everyone about the great pizza. Your food will only carry you so far. You really need to back that up with great service and an honest concern for the happiness of your customers or they’re just going to give up. People have to put some effort out to get to this place and I’m just not going to bother any more. 3 for 3? That’s just horrible in my books!

I have been to Calabria Scarborough location for a number of years and was always satisfied with their variety of food/pizza.Recently I visited their Markham location. The quality and service at this location is very weak, it actually gives Calabria Bakery a bad reputation. I ordered a Calabria Pizza, there were at most 5 slices of Pancetta (size of a penny) on the pizza plus a burnt hole in the dough. They do not have a wood ovencharge $1.00 more than the Scarborough location but put less ingredient… I will not recommend the Markham location to anyone.
A nice, simple hangout spot. I visited Calabria Bakery last week with a friend of mine for the first time because I’m on a mission to try the best pizza in Scarborough/Toronto.I am disappointed to say that I didn’t find it here.Calabria makes fresh stone oven pizza on Thursdays and Fridays til 8 PM. I shared a pizza with mozzarella, pepperoni and mushrooms–nothing too fancy. In fact, most of the toppings offered are pretty simple ingredients. If you’re lookin’ for a gourmet pizza joint, this is not the place. The pizza itself was average. Better than anything you would get from Pizza Pizza or another chain resto. The crust was nice, but not as crispy as I had hoped. Tomato sauce wasn’t particularly flavourful. My biggest gripe with the pizza I ordered was that it was crazy greasy. 🙁 Definitely not what I was looking for at all. Other than the pizza, they have a range of different ready-made pastas, sides and pastries you can order. It’s a nice place with simple decor and friendly service.
