One of the best fish and chips locations in Scarborough. Fish is fresh without overdoing it on the batter, served with scottish style bread and coleslaw.
Best Fish in Chips in Scarborough – Also the most expensive ! lol – Worth the price, for a treat or special occasion, visit St Andrews for a delightful british meal. Dont forget the deep fried snickers for dessert !
A Taste of Scotland. We were looking for something different from what we usually eat and found it at St. Andrews. It’s not a fancy place, but seems to be family-owned and authentic. One of our group ordered the clam chowder said it was the best she’d had yet. I definitely wouldn’t have fish and chips every day (or I’d end up with heart disease) but I enjoyed my meal. The portions are quite generous for the price. There are also a lot of other Scottish menu items that may be worth trying in the future.
Terrible Service. The worst service I have ever had in a fish & chip restaurant. The waitress was more interested in setting the tables than waiting on customers. Food was waiting to be served and she was still setting tables. No idea what the food is like as I finally left without ordering.
Perhaps I’m missing something about this place. Thouroughly disappointed with the cod & chips lunch. The piece of cod was obviously from a Highliner box I could have bought myself from Metro, tarter in a plastic package?, no mayo for the chips? Seriously??
We (my family and myself) consider ourselves fish and chip ambassadors. We’ve eaten in England, the East Coast of Canada, Vancouver, Boston, Greece, Portugal and Australia. Our haddock and chips came boxed up in a neat package oozing of succulent aroma. We opened up the packages – 3 – and had 2 delectable pieces of fish each! Moment of truth: pulled apart the batter encrusted fish and the taste was exactly what we like: fresh, not gamey. The batter was just right and didn’t overpower the fish. The chips were golden brown and didn’t have burned bits. 9/10
FAVORITE.. This has got to be thee best fish and chips I’ve ever had!Everything is always fresh, its not greasey, the service is great and super friendly, and did I mention the desserts!? The deep fried mars bars are to DIE for!
