Disappointing. Dry ribs, bland sauce and very slow service. Still cannot understand why it was so busy. Will not be going back..
Friendly staff. Kid friendly. Had my wife, 10 year old and two 18 month old boys as well as my friend with her 13 month old. Staff was very supportive and the food was good. Ribs are fall off the bone and were better than any of the ribs I had at ribfest this year.
Foody. Went for dinner on July 6. Had the chicken n rib combo. Ribs were tender and chicken was OK, however the gravy is horrible, resembles coffee with cream. The Haugen’s bbq sauce tastes like warm ketchup. Very disappointed. Only half the restaurant was open. Needless to say judging by the lack of customers on a Friday night, others agree with my comments.
Fresh Fresh Fresh!. Love the retro feel! Huge portions and quality like Mom used to make. Chicken is tender and moist! The ribs were among the best I have had. And for the record…I love that tomato based sauce…i suggest dumping it on your home cut fries.
Another Margret and Gordon Venue. This is exactly the same like a family owned swiss chalet, with the whole chickens being the same and the fries, and their fancy sauce which tastes like bbq sauce and keptchup. This place is not a good value for the dollar and not worth the drive 30 minutes north neither just for some chicken and fries which you can get at your local grocery store for less then half of the value to feed a lot more people then just one.
We went there on a Wednesday night and ordered starter salads, our meals came five minutes after our salad.. Which was very fast. The crispy chicken club was delicious and their chicken is amazing! Barbecue sauce was very light and not very good. They only have a dark beer on tap which was horrible. The manager there was not very polite an spent the entire time closing the blinds hours before the restaurant closed. I asked for my wrap to be packed and my waitress brought me tinfoil to wrap it myself…. Food was relatively good but service was very sloppy.
Delicious!!!. Fantastic ribs! And the best chicken I have had in a long time. Found this place from the show on the Food Network and we will definately be back!PS I loved the sauce. It is a refreshing change from the powder gravy at Swiss Chalet that gives me a stomach ache every time!
