Went to KS for a birthday party. The restaurant is huge. The wait staff is Friendly and attentive. Food is great. The standout for us tonight is the pizza. Fresh , light and tasty crust and plenty of cheese. Bathrooms are clean. Will be back for sure
KS is better than the other options available by the South Keys shopping centre, and has decent food overall. Their Asian fare is tasty; however, my favourite dish (a breaded sweet and sour chicken) no longer seems to be on the menu. The pizza, shrimp scampi and prime rib burger are all good, I’d give the Pescatore a miss and the Pad Thai and the lasagna are average. They have a roof top patio that is lovely in summer. They unfortunately messed up my take-out orders twice (once on the phone and once online), delivering the wrong dishes. They were good about fixing it, but when you’re super hungry it’s disappointing.
I decided to pick up a pizza tonight for dinner and chose a small Tuscan pizza. The website shows a small at $18 however when I got there to pick it up, they wanted to charge me $20.50. I stood my ground and politely told them I would pay the price that was advertised on their website. The manager agreed and charged me what was advertised. Now for the pizza. Admittedly, $18 is steep for a small pizza but I was optimistic, despite the actual size looking more like a personal size than a small. The ingredients were bruschetta, chicken, spinach, and cheese on a whole wheat crust. I expected excellence for the price however I would compare it to a frozen pizza with too much undercooked garlic. It was very mediocre. The 1.5 rating is not for the pizza, it’s for the manager honouring the website price.
Had a great early dinner – steak tenderloin salad was perfection. I was a bit hesitant about what to order and the server suggested the steak salad. All the veggies were super fresh with the onions and mushrooms grilled too. Beef was tender and cooked to medium as promised. Will be back for this dish again soon!!!
We’ve been ordering their take-out pizza for a few years and ended up there with 4 other people for a get-together. What a disappointment. The service was rushed and rude. My wife was drinking red wine with her pizza and ordered another glass. The waiter brought a glass of white and when she corrected him, he told her she had asked for white, which of course she had not. We had separate cheques and when one of the guest was apparently too slow with the debit machine the waiter literally pulled it out of his hands. Also, don’t order a Martini on Tuesdays because although it is only $5, it’s also watered down with vermouth making it unpleasant to drink. I ordered a second with straight gin and mixed them together. It may otherwise be a decent place but we wouldn’t know it based on our lousy experience. Won’t go back and won’t be ordering from them any more.
We were there June 10th a party of six, we were seated in the bar section, the waiter took our order and then returned and said we would have to leave as they had a large party downstairs that wanted to come up to the bar. We were not offered to move to another location in the restaurant, we were only told we would have to leave. We gave them another chance last night June 21, party of four. The service was very poor the waitress was non-attentive, a second round of wine arrived after we had finished our meal, the food was not as it had been in the past, actually very poor it was not even hot. Spoke to the hostess about the poor service and the waitress came to apologize and said she was not on her game and walked away. We had been to K&S many times in the past, long time customers even at the old Bank St location. My recommendation is to avoid K&S. If the owner and management are not interested in there customers and do not want return business their are other fine restaurants in the area. Lowest rating possible!
I was truly disappointed. My friend took me there as she enjoyed the food there once before. Both of us were surprised at the size of the meal we received. We ordered each the fish and chips but wanted no chips so asked for a salad. The food was tasty. The fish was fresh and the panko dressing was very good. But the fish was at most 3 oz in size. Paper thin and small ! The Caesar salad was also small and had 4 croutons and little if any Parmesan cheese on it. We asked for a bread roll but was told they don’t serve bread normally but the waiter reluctantly brought a small piece of toast each with some butter. We were still hungry so we ordered and shared a slice of cheese cake. It was perhaps 2cm at the widest part. Tiny! We should have ordered one each. While we are not big eaters we were still hungry when we left. With tip the lunch was around 21$ each. Originally the waiter suggested another special, fish tacos. So if we go back then we will try that.
