We came for dinner with our 15 month old – service was outstanding, recommended wine pairings were excellent and the food absolutely amazing and worth every penny. We also liked the seasonal mostly local food.
I have gone multiple times and the service is normally great. I have gone for different occasions including birthdays and business. It is fairly pricey unless its a special dinner. The most recent time I went I was there for a birthday and I arrived at 11:10, they open at 11:00. We had not made a reservation, but there was no one there. The hostess told us that they were not ready and that they might be able to start up the kitchen, but that alone would be 30 min (we only had 30 min to eat). Normally we make a reservation and the service is great, but unless I go with a certain family member the service is not as good.*Also the hostess and the waitress is normally the same person, they sometimes have one or two other waitresses, but it is a small restaurant
Fantastic Meal and Wonderful Dining Experience. The ambiance was lovely, the hostess very friendly and the food was to die for. My 90 year old mother and my husband had steak that could be cut with a butter knife and my trout was cooked superbly. I love the decor, especially the blend of tile and hardwood. The entire experience was extremely pleasant.
Over-rated. Ive had better food at tim hortons and paid way less and didn’t leave hungry.i feel bad for the 55+ hostess who clearly hates her life and treats people poorly.my only advice to this restaurant: get a better hostess and maybe move to a smaller town.
WOW…. The unpleasant hostess is the owner of the restaurant, along with the chef, who is her son. His food is spectacular, it is our go to place for any special occasion….it’s just a shame about the unhappy host. She really does make you feel like you are lucky that she even agreed to allow you to enter her restaurant. We feel as though we are bothering her,…when we are there. If the food wasn’t so amazing,…we wouldn’t be spending $100 or more each time we go. I really wish that I could specify that the tip go to the chef, and NOT to host.
Wicked food, Wicked Hostess. The food here is great and worth every penny. The chef is well trained and very creative. The experience of dining there is not so good though, which is a real shame. The hostess, who owns the place I think, does not make the customer feel as if she wants you there to have a nice experience. Instead, she makes you feel as if you are lucky to be there or something. It’s really weird. It’s not likes she’s really upity but its just that she doesn’t know people I guess. She should let someone else be the host and stay in the back. Also, the wait staff are inexperienced for sure. Its too bad.
Woodstock`s treasure. Truly an amazing dining experience once again. This time however, they added a little twist by bringing out fresh oysters as a taster. Great! Ordered steak and it was to die for,no need for a steak knife as it cut like butter. Awesome presentation and the service was impeccable. Special thanks to Pauline and all the staff that made our visit most enjoyable. And hats off to Eric the chef! See you soon.
