2018-02-09: This is the best service I have experienced in over twenty-five years on the Ottawa side prompt, attentive without being intrusive and quick to spot, correct and replenish minor mishaps like spilled wine. The food is exquisite in very creative presentation. Squid and then scallops in creative coulis and vegetable bases. A little pricey but certainly worth it. Desserts are works of art. I had the gingered crme brle with blueberries. Setting is attractive with open kitchen and tables set well apart but still a full room. Reservation was for 7:00pm on a February wintry Friday. Glassed-in gas fireplace a comforting offset to the outside snowy weather. All staff seem very well trained. I would cheerfully return.

Nice ambience although it was very loud. I liked that the kitchen could be viewed from where we sat so I could watch everyone in action. I cant remember rhe offical names but for appetizers we had the coconut soup that was excellent. We also had a mozzarella tomato with coustini that was ok and a pea puree something with this very yummy crusty bread that was good. Main course was 24 hr brisket that was very good. And I had crispy beef which I was disappointed with. Too much sauce and quite salty. No room for dessert unfortunately. Service was excellent. I love the way they explain the dish as they serve it.
We went for Mother’s day brunch and the food was beyond expectations. The lamb was cooked to perfection, the eggs Benedict were poached to perfection and the ginger vanilla creme brule was pure silk. The service was excellent, very attentive but the did not hover. Can’t rave enough!!!
Another great dinner at Next. The Steak Tartar was wonderful and the Tempura cheese curds are awesome. Could have had the whole plate to myself! As always the service was great.
Fantastic for big holidays. Most restaurants fail on this, but this place was made for that! Went here for Mother’s Day once and it was awesome. The food was great even though it was a buffet. Most buffets are crap for events like Mother’s Day and Easter, but it was awesome and the service was really attentive.
This was our first time here. The ambiance was lovely, and the restaurant was very clean. The food was beyond excellent, and the servers were helpful and knowledgeable. The only things that bothered us a bit was the big push to order the Blind Sharing on the menu for $63 per person (the most expensive item on the menu). After thoroughly explaining what it was, I decided to order something else instead, the waitress still insisted that I should order the Blind Sharing – even though my friends had ordered it. A little heavy on the sales pitch, which made us all feel a little uncomfortable. We would definitely return, but the servers really need to lay off the sales pressure! munchingqueen.wordpress.com
