Every time I try to call them to place an order all I get is some insipid fax machine screeching in my ear. What kind of honest, customer friendly business doesn’t have an actual phone number with which you can actually talk to a real person.
Wrong Coloured Icing on Wedding Cake. We received the WRONG COLOUR ICING. This bright colour ruined our reception. I tried multiple times to contact the wedding coordinator as well as the owner and NO RESPONSE. Aside from the poor customer service and professionalism, we really only wanted acknowledgement and an apology for the inconvenience and mistake. We should have known the level of professionalism when we were planning our vision for our wedding day, confirmation emails were not returned. We found this frustrating, upsetting and alarming. How does a business not confirm an order change? We went to the store and asked the sales associate to ensure our order was correct. When we felt assured that everything would work out…. on our wedding day we were horrified to see a bright icing on display. I wish I had read reviews on this venue since there are many that detail similar negative experiences.
Has Gone Down Hill!. I remember when this was just a little cupcake shop down on King in Stoney Creek. Back then they were amazing and I couldn’t wait to get one when I was at my cousins’. Then they moved up to the Stonechurch location, up-ed the prices and let the quality of the cupcakes go way down. You can taste that they are mass produced and the flavour is never really there.I got a cherry cheese cake one the other day because I had a craving for something sweet. Completely disappointed. You would expect some type of cream cheese icing to give the idea of a cheese cake but instead it was overly grainy butter-cream icing. The cherry part on top was like some type of cherry gel I’m sure you could find at most grocery stores and their wasn’t much actual cherry filling in the cup cake itself. The actual cupcake was the best part in my opinion and really it was just meh.I had to go buy a drink from starbucks just to get the taste out of my mouth. D:
Not a fan.. I have had so many screw up it’s unreal. It wouldn’t be so bad if an apology was given instead of the staff making me feel like I am to blame. NO customer service. Couldn’t agree more about the customer service here. Despicable. They are messing up orders and then blaming them on YOU, the customer, when it was clearly their fault due to their incompetence.
Brides Beware!!. I ordered cupcakes a year in advanced for my wedding. They were to be there at 10am for set up… didn’t get there until 1:00pm!! After the wedding had started! The staff from the venue (The Old Mill) worked frantically to provide us with another cake. It was not needed in the long run, but created a lot of stress on my wedding day that I did NOT need. I tried contacting the owner, but received no response – no discount, let alone a simple apology.I attended a friend’s wedding a few weeks later who also ordered from Beyond the Batter… and they messed up her order too! Brides BEWARE! If you want cupcakes for your wedding, you are better off ordering from somewhere more reliable!!
Lost My Business. Though the cupcakes are delicious, I simply cannot continue to purchase from a company that is so poorly managed and rude. I have had nothing but terrible customer service experiences here – from employees who know nothing about their products or company, to employees who flat out lie, to employees who are rude and unprofessional…I have truly had enough. Beyond the Batter, you have lost my business.
