FOOD:I had come here on a Thursday night at around 6:00 pm for dinner. I had settled on the Chicken On A Kaiser ($10.49), with Mashed Potatoes as my side; I chose Water to drink. I have ordered this sandwich at other locations before however, I wasnt too happy with the one I received at this location. The sandwich itself was not cut in half, as it usually is at other locations. Also, it tasted quite dry, and it seemed to be smaller than usual. The Mashed Potatoes had a ring in them, it looked like there was a glass sitting on top of it. The portion size was too small, literally four spoonfuls, and thats it. I did like the taste of the items for the most part however, I found them to be much too small, and not filling enough. Overall, I wasnt as satisfied with my meal as I would have liked to be.ATMOSPHERE:When I had entered the restaurant, it was very busy, and I had to wait about five minutes at the front for a table. The restaurant itself was quite large, with two sections available for seating. It was very loud as there were a lot of people however, the table was large enough for me as it was only myself dining. The restaurant was also very clean and neatly organized.SERVICE:I was served by a waitress named Maria, who was very kind from the moment I came, until the moment I left. She came to check on me as I was dining, and brought my bill to me right away when I had asked for it. She was very busy however, she made the experience quite pleasurable. Thank you Maria!COST:1 Chicken On A Kaiser Meal (With Mashed Potatoes): $10.49 + Taxes = $11.85WOULD YOU RETURN?Yes however, I would order a different meal as the one I ordered just didnt satisfy my cravings.
Seeing my Dads favourite place in a new light. Went here tonight with my husband and my dad. Not a surprise that we all ordered a chicken dinner. This place has not been a favourite of mine but when my father is asked where he wants to go the answer is almost always the same… Swiss Chalet.. When my mom was alive my parents used to go to this location once a week. I used to cringe when we would join them.I could never understand the love of that Christmas tree smelling dipping sauce. Yuck! I used to like the older buns and when the franchise changed them to the newer roll variety that was the last straw. Now this new building is lighter and brighter and the staff even seem friendlier than I remember. ( I guess that is what light therapy can do for people) Well, now back to the dinner. The chicken was great. Not dried out and tiny like I recall. The new salad that I had instead of fries was also very good and I didn’t mind the roll because it came warm. I don’t have to tell you I didn’t retry the sauce. Yuck! One of the things that made me smile at the end of the meal is that I had ordered a dinner for $12.99 and found out it included a Hagendaz ice cream bar! I will let my father make his choice more often.
The building has been demolished and constuction to begin on a bigger more updated Swiss.
