A family run establishment that advertises they serve all kinds of asian food. Places that really don’t define themselves as having a specialty is always a little warning sign to see if they are actually authentic. The food is actually decent, with average portions. They offer some dishes that I normally like to eat at HK cafes, such as baked pork chop on rice with tomato sauce, etc. etc. That dish was decent. On days where I want just a rice dish quick and easy, I’ll head over here. Quality is better than fast food outlets definitely though. As someone else also commented, they have scaled a spot in the restaurant that someone stays there when their parents are working in the restaurant. I didn’t really mind as it didn’t bother me at all, but for those that take in the ambiance more, this may turn them off a little bit.
The only reason I am giving them two stars is because the food was very good. But the ambience and cleanliness is very poor. As soon as I entered there was this funny smell and I couldn’t stand there for long. When you enter, on first table, a staff was cleaning the spoon with dirty water and stuff on table, really put me off. At entrance, there was also this room like thing made where I think the owner’s daughter was living or something, which wasn’t professional at all for a restaurant. They didn’t have proper hygiene practices, I think they are just careful during inspection time. Will not want to visit again because of the atmosphere. Also, on their menu, they have this Chinese special section written in Chinese only, which means non-Chinese can’t order. That’s kind of unfair and discriminatory, I don’t see any other restaurants doing this. The lady appeared friendly, so if you can order delivery or turn a blind eye to hygiene, then good place to order food from, a tad bit expensive though looking at the place and ambience.
Give it a miss. Nasty nasty
