The Jeckyl & Hyde of Italian. It pains me to say this, because after all, exactly HALF of my experience at Marino’s has been awesome. We’ve gotten food there exactly four times. The first time, I ordered their famous panzerotti that I’d heard so much about, for pick-up. Got the food home. The panzerottis looked awesome, but unfortunately my meat lover-ish order turned into a Hawaiian–and I hate pineapple. Luckily, the wife likes it, so we traded, and I settle for her deluxe, even though I don’t like mushrooms much. The second time we ordered panzerotti, we each got exactly what we ordered, and they were delicious. Probably the best I’ve had in town. The third time we actually sat down to dine. We ordered a large deluxe pizza. Without a doubt on par with Muldoon’s as the best pizza I’ve had in town, fresh from the pan. It was excellent. The fourth time we ordered out, we ordered the exact same thing, a large pizza, with ham instead of mushrooms. We got it home, only to find out they had forgot to put TOMATO SAUCE on it. So it was dough, a thick layer of ham, a layer of cheese, and then pepperoni and green peppers and onions. Also the crust had somehow changed, so that it tasted more like one of those cheap-o 2for1 pizza places. It was awful. So I don’t know if the cook is schizophrenic, or they have two completely different sets of staff working different nights, but it seems like half the time, you get great food, and the other half is all messed up. I don’t think I’ll be going back.
Tried the panzerotti again last night. Was back to being as amazing as ever. Two thumbs up!12 Jan, 2014Have always loved the panzerotti. Best ever, but ordered about a month ago and was very disappointed. Crust recipe has changed as well as the meat sauce recipe. It appears that maybe they had a chef change. Am giving it one more try and am hoping it was just a fluke.
Needs a makeover. Run down and food that is ok at best. More a bar.
Worst service ever!!! Apparently all customers are considered liars. So, let me start off by saying this was probably the WORST service ive ever experienced as a new customer. I am completely appalled at how they treated me. The delivery time was quick, but when it arrived i found that one of the two panzerotti s was extremely small! I was the one who paid for the majority of the order as my little brother was having the other one. His was fine, it was how they should be. but upon cutting it open i discovered mine had only about a handful of topping and was about 65% crust.Having not eaten for many hours i was infuriated because i know that they are normally much bigger, and im not normally one to complain. But this was just completely un-acceptable. So i ended up calling Marinos and was greeted with a very rude employee that pretty much told me that i was a liar and my complaint is not valid. She then told me to speak to the manager tommorow. When i called the next day i was thankfully greeted with someone who was more understanding but the manager was still not in so i ended up being transfered to yet another rude employee telling me that my complaint is not valid!! Is this how you really want to treat new customers? In the end i was offered no compensation, very sad. I wish i had kept arguing but i felt this was a better method to vent. Its very unfortunate that i was treated like this when they`re pizza is normally very good.
Great deal! I was really impressed by the food and service. Super value!
Mmmmmmm….. This is a great place to go for an inexpensive, home cooked meal. I quite like the cheeseburgers, but then I am partial to a smaller burg which is tender and flavorful. When Little Chris makes his soup, yummmmm! Love the cabbage soup, or anything creamed. One can expect a soup, sandwich and drink to cost $8-$9 -which is a steal!
Pizza is really good! They use real bacon and real cheese! They even give you two nice layers of cheese so all your toppings stay glued right to the crust! The only complaint: delivery takes a looooong time, but it’s well worth the wait.
