Dinner at Backstage. I’ve been to this restaurant on two occasions in one week . The main reason is because other restaurants were closed. The waitresses are in a hurry for us to order. Then it takes a very long time for the food to come to the table. If we need to order something more or water there are no waitresses available to take the order. The first time I went I ordered carrot cake for dessert. It was a seven layer cake and delicious. Two days later I went again and ordered the same dessert. It was a tiny piece of carrot cake. The price for both desserts were the same. When I questioned the waitress, she said, it depends if and when the owner has time to make the dessert during the weekend. The second time the dessert was stale and dry. The service here is not good. The owner should take note of this.

New owners new everything!. A large group of business people and I went to a wonderful lunch at Backstage in mid-March. We were pleasantly surprised by the great service, updated decor and wonderful new menu presented by the new owners. The salads were crisp, varied and interesting, and the Thai soup was amazing! Our main courses were wonderful as well: spicy fresh salmon wraps filled to bursting, tender and flavourful chicken and mushroom pasta, (remember to ask for a take-out container for later) and fun and tasty beef sliders, to name a few, Dessert was a decadent, rich brownie sort-of sandwich, enough for 2, and a great creme brulee, among others. Service was attentive and quick. As a Stratford Bed and Breakfast owner I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to my guests. Thanks for a great meal!

We just left BB&G. We ordered the antijitos. They were good. Even if it took 45 min to show up. The nachos were horrid. We had chicken added to the nachos. No spices were used on the chicken. The chicken tasted like it was boiled. There was hardly any cheese on the nachos at all. DON’T GET THE NACHOS. The decor is very nice.

Incapable. The cooks are not capable of making a sandwich. I’ve watched 5 year old children make a sandwich properly. There were 4 tables in the restaurant we were seated second, served last, and got our cold food last.

Lunch at BB@G. We were there on Nov.4 and ordered fish and chips (group of 3 adults). The order was ready in 10 mins and when remarked, the waitress said that they have a remarkable cook. What followed was that the food was awful – the french fries refried couple of times, burnt and rubbery. Fish on the other hand, was half-cooked with some parts still cold (frozen?). Overall, it was the first and last time we went there. No wonder, the place was empty at lunch-time.

Backstage Bar and Grill. We went here for lunch on Monday past. We were first ones in for lunch crowd. My girlfriend’s lunch came and it was not what she ordered. Was informed a few minutes later that type of bread she wanted wasn’t in stock. She then asked why the chef didn’t get the waitress to ask if this was acceptable and if not would she like to order something else. I ordered fish and chips. The fish looked burnt and have been deep fried a few times. The fish was dry and the french fries were like leather. The manager came out and said she tried both dishes and that there was nothing wrong with it. She said they had the best chef in all of Stratford. Maybe from McDonald’s flipping burgers. Food was awful, manager rude. Gordon Ramsay would have a field day here. Scale from 1 – 10 would be -10
