Too Expensive!. We had come here on a Saturday evening at around 6:15 p.m. for dinner. When we walked into the restaurant, we were puzzled as to why it was virtually empty on a Saturday evening. As soon as we walked-in, one of the servers from the back came out to greet us. He didnt seem to be too friendly; he seemed quite neutral actually. He then told us to choose any seat that we liked; we chose a table near the wall, which was in-front of two other tables which had one customer at one, and three customers at another. We were then handed menus, which were quite elegant looking however, upon looking at the prices of the items, we were blown away at how expensive the items were. We have been to a number of Japanese restaurants, and we were surprised at the prices that we were seeing for these items. We were hesitant to order something too expensive therefore, I settled on the California Tempura Roll for $8.95, while my husband settled on the Spicy Seafood Udon for $16.95. Once we had placed our order, we took a look around the restaurant, which was quite dark, although there were beautiful pictures and statues situated on the walls throughout the restaurant. The tables were small, along with the chairs. There were a number of tables that sat empty, with dim lights hanging above them. After about a few minutes of having had ordered, the server brought over two miso soup bowls, which seemed to be complimentary. We were surprised as we didnt expect this however, we thought it was quite generous of them to provide us with them. The miso soup was delicious, nice and hot as it should be. We sipped the soup quickly as we were getting hungry at that point. After about ten minutes of having had received the soup, my husbands Spicy Seafood Udon arrived. It was a large bowl however, it was not very full, with only a few items placed inside. I then received my California Tempura Roll about two minutes afterwards, and was surprised to see that it was cut into eight small pieces, all of which were small and deep-fried. When I bit into one piece of the roll, I was surprised to find that the rice tasted like rubber, which didnt leave a good taste in my mouth. Also, the insides of the roll were not very full, which made me wish I could have had more. I was actually still hungry after I had finished, which resulted in us having to go to another restaurant to eat something else.Once we were finished, I was brought over a cup of complimentary green tea however, my husband was not, which I found a bit strange. We then asked for the bill, which came out to $29.27 for the two of us. We found this to be a bit too pricey, especially since the food items were small. We have noticed that the same items at other locations were much cheaper, offering more food as well. We were definitely not impressed with the food or the price, and will not be dining here in the future anytime soon.
Mobile review. Fantastic service and delicious food! Everything was so great that no one at our table wanted to leave, and when we did we were very full! Our waiter was very attentive and kind and at the end of our meal the owner came over to chat with us. I highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely go back if I find myself in Stratford again!
Very filling. First time ever here, I came in for lunch during a snowstorm. the bento box for the dynamite roll was absolutely filling. if i drive to stratford again, i will definitely return
No hassle. Loved it.. Fresh squid and bbq eel in a small town. Nice.
I have enjoyed my dining experience at Pearl Sushi Japanese Restaurant. The service is excellent: polite and caring. The food is freshly made and delicious. I would highly recommend the Dolsot Bibimbap, and there is a great variety of other dishes. Sushi is also wonderful!
DINERS REVIEW. We came last October but I haven’t had the chance to write about Pearl Sushi until today. I remember we (there were three of us that day) had the vegetable noodle soups and assorted maki tray for lunch. Service was excellent and the dining atmosphere was pleasant. The Broadway music playlist was charming!
Fab sushi. Super fresh, incredible attention to detail, maybe a bit slow but definitely worth it!
