Poor customer service. I am a local and upon hearing favorable reviews from friends I decided to check it out. My girlfriend and I were headed out on a picnic and decided to pick up a few sandwiches along the way. We were running a bit late, but we managed to arrive about 20 minutes before the store closed. As soon as we walked in the place stank of pure bleach and the employees just glared at us. We were polite and asked if we could order a few sandwiches to take with us if it was no trouble. The person behind the counter rudely cut us off mid sentence to make a point of saying that they had already cleaned up and were ready to close. Fair enough. I understand in the restaurant industry there is a lot of cleanup, but this is a butcher shop/bakery. Cutting a few slices of meat and cheese is much different then preparing a whole meal. Perhaps they should change their store hours sign to reflect the hours they are actually open.
Lunch by the river. My mom that is 80 and I went up town and did some shopping we decided to have a little lunch so instead of a fast food one, we went into the shop here and the pleasant well mannered young fellow made us a wonderful sandwich and a drink came with it .We had a wonderful picnic in the park, mom could hardly eat all of her’s it was so large and VERY FRESH. we will be back .I have been back to purchase meat there and it is also great for the price. our favourite is smoked chops !!since we have been there( mom and I) they have open a sandwich shop in Sty.Mary’s.
