Consistently excellent. Imaginative food, with surprising but delicious twists on standard items. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and clearly passionately committed to what they do. If you haven’t eaten at Red Rabbit, then you haven’t really dined in Stratford!

2017/11/18Four of us were away for our annual Stratford weekend, and we found a new place for us to have lunch: The Red Rabbit. Local food and house-made everything, including sauces and things like ketchup. SWMBO had the 2 pc Fried Chicken & Waffles. Two chicken thighs were covered in their secret blend of herbs and spices, and deep-fried. The coating was crispy, the chicken was tender, and the waffle was fresh and light. There was sweetness from the maple syrup, and a little bit of heat from the carrot hot sauce. SWMBO liked her dish very much. I chose the Falafel Plate. The flavours were very good, but the falafel was overcooked, unfortunately. The dish came with three separate sauces: tahini, hummus, and a harissa sauce with a pleasant heat. Our other two diners liked their meals as well. Service was very good. So three diners very good experience outweighed my overdone falafel.

Incredible little spot! Fantastic service. Wonderful aesthetics. Top shelf tunes. Ordered the hot chicken sandwich and it was PERFECTLY COOKED AND ALSO SPICY. Not like White Person Spicy – actually spicy. The fries were also WELL SEASONED AND CRISPY. These shouldnt be notable things for a restaurant but frankly most places mess up seasoning/crispness for their fries and The Red Rabbit most certainly does/did not. Also – house made sodas (for the non-drinker) made with local/in-season fruits. FANTASTIC. Dessert: local fruit/house made yogurt/house made granola/local honeycomb – OBSCENELY DELICIOUS and perfect for sharing. This is the new go-to spot in Stratford – and it should be yours, too.

Wow. Food was excellent. Had lunch here and got the falafel plate- everything was made fresh- even the dips. SO tasty. You can tell the chefs really put their heart into their food. Staff was knowledgable and very friendly. Cannot wait to go back.

Delicious! Local and creative and a minute walk from the avon theatre. I’m a stickler for texture and temperature which go hand in hand…my crispy quail salad was hot and crispy where required and fresh and light as desired. myfriendinfood.com

We went here before a play on a Tuesday night. It was packed and I was lucky to get a reservation.Atmosphere- Great name. Beautiful space. All the art in the room displayed a red rabbit in them throughout the bar making it kind of whimsical. Tables and bar was in the style of fresh clean wood. Usually these spaces with wooden floors, tables and no linen gives you a space that is loud. This place has done it correctly. If you look along the wall they have installed Sound absorbing material and does it ever make a huge difference.Service- We had a not so personable girl named Mackenzie. When I ordered a diet coke to start and her response was that no diet pop on menu I then said I would just have water then she almost shut our table down. She snapped up the wine list ( Which my friend had to ask another friendly girl for ) to order what she wanted. She also talked to us like children explaining this type of menu was a sharing menu and we should order accordingly. She didn’t let us know of the specials until after we had decided to get to find out they were replaced with something else. BTW- Shareable dishes do not come in a full size burger and we did see burgers being served with salads on the side ( we were told that wasn’t possible )Food- The whle menu looked appetizing with unique choices. 3 of us had the rib burger and it was to die for. the burger comes pink inside and the sauce and bun works perfectly. Loved it and I have no idea how one would have shared this. I have been to a ton of tapas places that have separate things to share. If this burger was meant to share it would have been 2 sliders. My other friend had the vegetarian burger- Her number of MMMMM.s throughout the meal said she liked her.s as well as we all liked ours. We shared the maple bacon poutine- big plate of food ( like a main dish) with no serving spoon- If this was meant to be shared why was there only 1 piece of bacon on the top. ( excellent flavour ) We also shared the asparagus and cheese plate- once again fantastic ( no serving spoon or separated items. ) Desserts were- The custard pie with rhubarb compote and granola and home made rhubarb gelato- I would come back just for that it was so good.Impression- I would definitely come back. hopefully we wont get the same server. All the others in the place seemed lovely and genuine. I do not know why she explained the dishes as shareable when they did not appear to be shared. Someone should inform her not to mislead customer like that. Also if the restaurant really does intend on sharing sides then please serve them in a few smaller portions or with serving spoons. Also, I would like to question why no diet cola can be served. If a diabetic does not drink alcohol what choices do they have ? Water, tea/coffee ( This place didn’t have sweetener either -without sweetener too?} or water sparkling or otherwise. Please reconsider this choice. The food here is fabulous why would you want to ruin so many peoples eating experiences by not offering sugar free options for drinks.
