The food was acceptable, barely. The service was awful. We ordered some pretty standard fare: soup, apps, chicken, fish and rice. I’ve had better. I’ve been here before but will question myself before coming again. And over priced for what was ordered.
Incredible spot despite not being located in Scarborough or Richmond Hill. Stir-fried lobster on a bed of Cantonese egg vermicelli was to die for. The sauce was garlicky perfection. The Har Gow was great with the shrimp being fresh and sweet. The dumpling skin was not as thin as I like it to be though. The deep-fried taro dumplings are officially my favourite across the GTA. The steamed rice noodles with beef was delicious as well. Chinese green vegetables served with a side of oyster sauce was a pleasure to eat. It wasn’t over-cooked and had a fantastic flavour and textures. We will definitely be back and SOON! We’re talking tomorrow and we were just there yesterday! So glad that we found this spot. We also love Lai Wah Heen, Dynasty and Rol San Downtown. Golden Fountain is definitely part of that group of favourite dim sum spots in the GTA.
