If you want an authentic satisfying bowl of pho, unfortunately you won’t find it here. The soup was not the flavorful soup stock you would yearn for in a pho restaurant. Instead it was unbearably bland and over powered with this odd ‘sweet’ flavor you would find in Japanese sukiyaki soup bowl, except this wasn’t a Japanese restaurant, nor was it a fusion of a Vietnamese and Japanese fare restaurant?I was very confused with my meal tonight? I don’t undertand why my ‘medium pho ga’ was in such a tiny bowl? With only 3 peices of stale chicken accompanied with a small clump of ‘ al dente’ noodles with Japanese ‘sukiyaki’ soup base? Why the chicken spring rolls consisted mostly of carots and vermicelli with only a trace of the tiniest serving of chicken? I’m not a huge eater but left only 55% full? It was the most heart breaking when I saw how good the employees at My Pho’s meal looked, conversely to mine? Seeing how nice the grilled pork chops and rice looked compared to my lonely scrap bowl of pho? I’ve asked many questions tonight that can’t be answered perhaps. But needless to say, it’s very unfortunate that I will not be returning to My Pho. What a shame! The staff were actually very friendly. But I couldn’t even smile and say goodbye as I left because I felt so disappointed with my meal. It’s a big shame.
