Lovely Time. My boyfriend and I went to Hogan’s Inn specifically because they were participating in savour York Region, where they have a fixed price 3 course menu available at a fraction of the normal cost. We had a reservation and requested that the leafs game be on in the either the lounge or pub. We arrived a little early but were happy to see the game already on the tv. We basically had the room to ourselves, only one other couple dined while we were there (it was a Tuesday night after all). Our food came out hot, exactly how we ordered it, in good time between courses and everyone we encountered who worked there was pleasant, friendly and attentive. It is a tad pricey normally in the lounge but for what we paid ($20/person + drinks and tax) it was a great experience. It’s clean, cute and quaint! Can’t wait to go back in the warmer weather to experience the balcony/patio.

Very slow service (lunch took 2 hours), missed one person’s order, and the missing order was undercooked when it finally arrived. No sincere apologies from waitress or manager. At one point we gave up ordering anything else (coffee) as it was next to impossible to find our server.

Food was nice, service friendly and music excellent. Was surprised, however, that the table of six next to us was held as reserved for an hour and a half as folks standing in the bar eyeballed it longingly. Then the owner arrived through the kitchen to occupy the table for himself and his guests. Poor optics indeed, but not as disturbing as his bottom passing by my face as he squeezed by our table without apology or acknowledgment.

Recent Visit. Went there last weekend a(had not visited in years) and the service and food was great. We had a table of four and all ate different dishes.I tried the brie fritters as a starter and Ahi Tuna special and both were delicious . The Ahi Tuna was seared and served with fingerling potatoes and was about the best I have had.when I asked our server (Jake) to pass our compliments to the chef he advised us the chef was newly arrived from fives year in Hong Kong including Michelin restaurants. To add to the atmosphere they had an entertaining guitarist who plays the weekends. Will certainly revisit.

Stale, mate!. Pleasant setting (not as elegant as website depiction), pleasant staff, not-so-pleasant meal. Ordered the soup de jour (good) and the House Specialty, Beer Battered Halibut Fish & Chips, which was cooked to rubbery imperfection. (Afternoon visit with close friend, so chose not to mar the moment with complaints.) If you want slightly up-scale pub fare, this is the place. Nothing original or outstanding here.
