The employees were too busy talking amongst themselves to notice that a customer had walked in. I had asked a question about the meat and the young man proceeded to finish his conversation about his weekend plans with his fellow colleague which prompted me to ask the same question again. Complete disregard for customer service!I regrettably ordered the chicken burrito, which was quite large but lacked any flavour. The chicken was cold, the vegetables were soggy and had a freezer burn taste to them. I was not impressed and quite disappointed! There were trays and garbage on a number of tables that had not been cleared up by the staff. I went in around 2:00PM, the place was not busy at all and only had one other customer dining in, which did not justify the messiness and uncleared tables. Will NOT be returning!
This is a fun place. The staff are great. Unfortunately, the food is so-so. They serve the simple Mexican dishes so I expect them to do them well. A lot of variety, just not so flavorful.
I usually dont do these, but I felt obligated to write something up, so that people dont have to go through the same thing. First off, the person that was serving me was pleasant and there was nothing wrong on that end. Secondly, I am not someone with a sensitive stomach to say the least I put my system up against some tough situations, so very few things get to me. I order two items on the menu nachos and churro. The nachos were something else I am all for a good crunch in a chip but there was something off with these felt like I was crunching through plastic. I have had pub chips, store bought chips, and even chips from Mexico, but I never had anything like these. Their cheese sauce was interesting, but not good. Now for the churro; which was very disappointing as well. If you guys know what real churros are like they should have a nice crunch on the outside and fluffy on the inside sugared up but not excessively. The churros here were not like this at all. Cooked improperly and overly greasy; too much sugar and the center was very doughy like I was chewing on damp play-doh.My body this morning at 3 am told me something was wrong and not to be too graphic on a food site, but I had to be in the washroom quite a bit. It felt like my body was punishing me for doing something really stupid. I am not sure if it was food poisoning or not because I havent vomited yet, but it is mid-day of the next day and my body is still feeling like garbage. Simply put if you like yourself dont do this to yourself. Not worth the time, not worth the money and in retrospect after the first bite I should have said uh-uh and threw it all out, but it hindsight we can always make better decisions.Im going to go lie down now.
I went to this place after a soccer match and decided to have a Burrito platter. I started eating my food and found rice were not properly cooked and found it hard. It was impossible to eat it. I told them about it and all they did was just hand me a 5$ discount coupon for next time. When I asked them to check the rice they have cooked, they said the rice they have in the container looks perfect, indirectly stating I was lying. I left the place immediately throwing out my food in the garbage. They don’t care if their customers are satisfied or not. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Poor service. I live around the corner, and order from restaurants along Bank Street all the time. Tonight I tried to order food for take-out, and they told me that they were very busy and they would call me back to take my order. So, i decided to walk by and call again; what did i see? An empty restaurant and an employee sitting at the bar talking to his co-workers. Above and beyond the service this time, the food is sub-par The quantity is good, the quality is hit and miss; for example, the nacho’s cheese tastes like cheese-whiz. I knew this place was an Ottawa original; but like Nortel, i would suggest that they have given up. I would rather, and I did, eat at Naji! The Glebe needs another Mexican restaurant!!!
Nice addition to the Glebe, very friendly service from staff. I think they are still working out the kinks but I think it will only get better and better.
Meh. Food was alright. kinda of expensive for a small dinner. Kind of wish we went to Feleena’s across from them. Staff was rude and impatient with us, for it was our first time there and we were unsure of what to do. Also the counters are to high. I’m 5’7 and I had to stand on my tip toes to talk to the people.
