Try it out!!!. Went with my girlfriend on Tuesday night, we had the vegetarian/vegan buffet and it was amazing. Everything was good and tasty and there wasn’t anything that we didn’t like. Try out the coffee, it is a REAL coffee and tastes awesome. Will be there again without a doubt, cost us only 12.77$ for the buffet and coffee.
Great. Friendly service, delicious and ample food, reasonable pricing; can’t ask for much more.
Yum! What a pleasant surprise!. My husband and I went to Hareg, an Ethiopian restaurant in the Glebe, for dinner with another couple last night. I have to say the food was AMAZING! The girls got the veg buffet (which was $9.99… wow!) and the men got the meat buffet ($12.99). The veg buffet is 100% vegan and the injera is vegan/gluten free. The food was SO GOOD, but the best part was the Ethiopian coffee we had at the end, where our server talked about the traditions in her home country while showing us the steps, from roasting the beans to pouring and tasting the coffee. We felt like we were on vacation in Ethiopia! All 4 of us highly recommend Hareg.
Good food, great staff. Had the meat buffet. Unbelievable flavours, very tasty and filling. Our server gave us a presentation on Ethiopian coffee culture when we were done. Very friendly
Not bad. Curious location. Went here a few weeks ago with a friend for lunch. As it happens it was Tuesday, so buffet was veggie only. I think buffet is veggie only on Tuesdays and Thursdays, veg & meat too M, W, F.Been a long time since I’ve had Ethiopian, and still not sure how I feel about the rubbery injera bread you eat with. Not a very big buffet. A few nice curries and other things. Not at all busy, so we were able to linger. It’s a funny location for this in the Glebe. It’s clear that it’s a bit of a clubhouse for local Ethiopian community evenings and weekends, and there’s a little seating area where they have social coffee. But I can’t help wondering how they can afford the rent.Worth a try if you want to give Ethiopian food a try.
Not great. Food was either cold or freezer burned. Service was fine but the food was terrible. There are better places to get Ethiopian in Ottawa. This was only from one visit and I am sure it’s decent most of the time
YUM!. The food at Hareg is amazing and the staff are so kind. They are a veg-friendly restaurant, but also serve meat, and their injera is gluten free. Their prices are totally reasonable as well. Order from the menu, or go on Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Saturdays, for the buffet. Either way, you can’t go wrong – it’s all really delicious and satisfying. Try it! You’ll be happy you did!
