For a quick takeout it works. I’m not impressed with their bagels but many people are. Kettleman’s is usually very busy at any time of day and I have a hard time figuring why.
Came here last week on my way home to pick up a half dozen bagels. I was in the mood for sesame, specifically, but decided to also try their all dressed, as well as their herb and cheese bagels. I ended up grabbing their cheddar cream cheese spread on a whim as well. The sesame bagels were great. They were soft with the perfect texture and amount of chew. The all dressed and cheddar herb, however, I found disappointing. The flavour was okay, but I found them very dense and tough. The cheddar cream cheese spread was okay, but nothing special, and for the price, I wouldn’t say was worth it.Overall, my verdict is their sesame bagels are incredible, but everything else I had was disappointing, as far as just their standard bagels are concerned, anyway. Perhaps their sandwiches or other options make up for it.
A far as Montreal bagels go, this place is tops in Ottawa. Open 24/7, 365 this place never closes. They only accept cash, which is good to know in advance. Bagels are made fresh all day and all night. There will be line-ups after games and nearby TD Place, so keep that in mind as well. Bagels come in singles, half dozen or dozen… or enjoy one of their creative and filling sandwich creations.
I always come here for bagels. Last time I got a dozen bagels and when I took them home I realized that they had something green on them and wasn’t sure what it was. Took them back to the store and was told that they made green bagels too and that they probably made them just before making mine which was why some of the green got on my bagel. This wasn’t a big deal to me and I was satisfied with the explanation but they still insisted on throwing in two extra bagels for free because I had to drive back there. Such an awesome service and this is the only place I go to for bagels now!
disgusting service! i’ve asked for bagel with butter and jam and told specifically that i do not wanna peanut butter, I want just regular one. I took the order with me at home, and they gave me Peanut butter!!! I feel very mad!!! do not like service at all!
Was looking for a spot to have a place where we could have a reasonable amount breakfast and perhaps fresh healthy options. Remembering Katelman’s place as this was recommended by quite a few folks as the place to go while in Big O. Reached there on the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend at around 11 am and there was a lineup to buy fresh bagels. The sitting area seemed full as well. People making bagels by the dozens, rolling them, cutting the dough. A site to see!!Ordered a Egg White and Kale on an Everything Bagel (partly because the bagels were coming out of the oven. The bagel was actually picked up to make the sandwich within a minute or coming out of the oven. How much fresher can it get? Also ordered a Herb and Cheddar Bagel with Hot Pepper cream cheese, a Vegetarian Sandwich on a Sesame Bagel (comes with Spiced pickled Eggplant, lettuce, tomatoes, Swiss Cheese and pesto Mayo), a chocolatine, a cheese bun, coffee and milk. The Egg White and Kale were perfectly done. Freshness you could taste in every bite A sure winner. Herb and Cheddar bagel and the hot pepper cream cheese were really good. The cream cheese had good flavour, however the bagel lacked Cheddar cheese, a bit more would have been perfect. The Vegetarian Sandwich had good lettuce, tomatoes and Swiss Cheese. The pesto mayo was not enough and the pickled eggplant had a bite/crunch to it. I like the crunch pickle cukes, however the eggplant crunch did not go well with us. The chocolatine was perfect and the quality of chocolate was good same could. It be said of the cheese bun. The Dark Roast Coffee from Lily’s served was amazing. Picked up another six bagels to go, a pretzel and a pumpkin spice bagel. A must visit when you are in Ottawa.
Best bagel ever! I got lucky on a one day trip to Ottawa to find this place. It’s busy, a lot of visitors. I guess it has great reputation in town. The sweet ones are my favourite. I also had a sandwich, it’s great but the Blueberry Bagel with Blueberry Cream is heavenly wonderful. I finish everything in the car, I have to go back to get another blueberry bagel. I will definitely go back when I visit Ottawa nest time.
