My go- to bakery for birthday cakes, squares and moist, delicious cupcakes. From chocolate to lemon and everything in between, I have never been disappointed. I’m pretty sure they use all butter in the icing, unlike what a previous reviewer implied. The cookies are great too- I buy them to treat my staff once in a while and they don’t last long on the counter! Excellent bakery.
Cupcakes made very well. I am a huge fan of cupcakes, and the cupcakes made here are pretty good. the cake was moist and soft and the icing was not too overpowering. it is on the sweet side but you have to expect that when you eat a cupcake right? I would go back again to try their other pastries.
Dissapointing to say the least. Upon returning to the Glebe for a weekend trip after years of being away from the city, I stumbled upon what looked like a delightful little bake shop. My son and I decided that a treat for the 2+ hour drive back to Kingston would be nice. We selected some lemon squares and 4 cupcakes (toffee crunch, french vanilla, lemon and french chocolate). The lemon squares are to die for… really creamy and tangy all at the same time, and a bargain an $1 a piece. A delight with each bite. The cupcakes are another matter entirely. What a disappointment, especially at $3.00 a pice. With the exception of the french chocolate, we had to scrape the thick flavorless lard that was called icing from the cake to be able to eat the cupcakes. It totally ruined what could have been a delightful treat. The only saving grace is a moist cake. The french chocolate was marginally better with a thick chocolate ganache icing. (at least it didn’t taste like I was liking a bar of Crisco)I think I will be skipping this sweet shop on future visits home.
Great baked goods and treats. we are regulars. We are especially fans of the tasty challahs made only on Fridays.
Relatively new place but they put out an amazing product. Great croissants and the chocolate ones are so decadant. Lots of local traffic which is always great to see. Its the first place I go on Saturday and Sunday morning for breakfast croissants.
Super fresh. Second Ave along with are the best in the city. Super fresh and a large variety. I love all the desserts For me their breakfast pastry is my staple. Does anyone else even make an eclair? 3 tarts has the same quality and a close 2nd.
