Usually 8 homemade soups to chose from, all delicious with plenty of body. Well worth a visit on a cool or wet day to warm your insides. Other menu items are also decent. I’d stop here for lunch often if I was in the area.

Came here for a quick dinner tonight, as a friend had recommended it to me before. I ordered a roasted red pepper soup, and a pesto chicken & Swiss panini. The sandwich was alright. The bread was awesome, the chicken was good quality, but when I got it, it was still a little cold in the middle. Not the end of the world though. The soup though, was fantastic, and I’d highly recommend it. For a cafe, the server did a really good job. It looked like she was on her own covering it, but she was busting her ass the whole time.Overall, I’d definitely recommend it as a cute cafe for a solid lunch at a reasonable price.

I was wandering around the Glebe on a Friday night looking for a place to eat. I wanted to get some pizza at Anthonys but the place was full so I walked around until I discovered that the Soup Guy had a new location on Bank. Those familiar with the Soup Guys location in the World Exchange know that its quite a popular place for weekday lunch crowds. I had seen some interviews with the Soup Guy on the news but had never tried it before. This was a good opportunity to finally try his soups. The place is fairly large for a soup and sandwich shop. It has a nice patio right in the center of the Glebe so thats an added bonus.Just like in Seinfeld, you line up to pick your soup, slide on over to the grilled panini section if you want a sandwich, wrap, quiche or salad and then slide over with your tray to the cash. I opted for the New England seafood chowder and a grilled cheese with bacon. There were some kinks in the ordering process. The staff confused who had what sandwich and that created a bit of a bottleneck. When things finally got sorted out, I paid for my order and took a seat on the patio. My grilled cheese with bacon and seafood chowder came to about $12 and some change total. They do serve alcohol and they do offer take home family size soups. The soup was simply delicious. Fantastic chowder with crab. Tried my girlfriends broccoli soup and that was also delicious. No wonder hes the Soup Guy. He makes a mean soup. The grilled cheese was very tasty, well beyond any typical grilled cheese Ive had in countless places. The whole meal was just plain awesome and spot on. The Soup Guy himself came over to give us samples of foods they were experimenting with.My only criticism is that because you get your soup first, have to wait for your panini to be grilled and then pay, by the time you get to eating your soup, its lukewarm. The soup was amazing lukewarm so imagine how much better it would have been piping hot. I think they should serve the soup last, not first.Overall, well worth the 4 km round-trip I walked to get there. A definite must have on a regular basis. The Soup Guy is more like the Soup King!
