Once in a while i try this place but consistently disappointed and now i find it overpriced. $7 kids meals: for 2 chicken fingers or some cheese pizza and that doesn’t include drink or dessert as normal in other places. Food is poor quality, both bison and chicken burgers were so overcooked it was hard to eat. At honed i would have tossed them and started again. Ok selection of beer if you like Beaus but $8 a pint. With all the competition from good pubs at Lansdowne i was expecting more.
I came here for drinks, and the service was astonishingly bad. It was fairly busy and I think there was only 1 server on, but if anyone wanted a drink, she was nowhere to be found about 70% of the time. She didn’t come to ask if anyone wanted more drinks, you had to flag her down specifically and ask. And even then it looked like a chore. Then she spilled my drink on me when she brought it over, and when I went to pay she dropped the credit machine on my arm.The drinks themselves were good, but the service was just terrible.
Large-ish pub. They do pub trivia at 7 pm on Thursdays. Craft beer selection is great – one of the larger lists in the city. Don’t go for the food, but if you do, the spinach and artichoke dip as well as the piggy mac n cheese are good. Fries are very hit or miss.
Come here for the beer, not the food. They usually have beer that’s brewed in small batches that you can’t find anywhere else in the city – a solid place to have a pint with good company.
Great Wings. I went here for their tuesday night wing night, and let me tell you it was delicious! The wings are cheap but they are good. Only thing that sucked was one guy was working the whole bar so you had to really flag him down if you wanted a refill or your bill. Other than that slower service, the price made it worth it!
Conflicted. Been coming here for years and they have a great beer selection. Easily one of, if not the best, selection in Ottawa. That being said, the service gets worse every time I go. The last time I went, I waited 20 minutes before I finally went to the bar to order a beer. And the bar side was maybe 1/4 full. The manager/bartender is miserable, condescending, rude and holier than thou.
I’ve been going here for years. The beer selection is the best in Ottawa. It’s always changing abd there’s always something new to try. Always a new brewery to discover. The food is good, but better when it’s half price on Wednesdays! The wings are a really good! Sometimes service is slow but if you want fast food, go to McDonald’s.
