It’s a nice spot, but too pricey for what you get. Food is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. Service can be slow and unless you have money to burn, there are much better places around that area. Not impressed with this restaurant at all.

Left hungry and disappointed. Considering the prices the food should be exceptional – it’s not. Pasta was bland. Veal was overcooked and un memorable. Environment and service aloof and void of character. We even had to pay for bread. Never going back. Worst dining option in the Junction.

Staff Social Flop. We came here for a staff social last December. We all paid $25 each. We had a group of about 30-40 teachers. Appetizers floated around the bar…octopus inked bread and a few scallops is all that came our way. I guess we were expecting to be somewhat fed after what we had paid. Each person had anywhere between 2-4 bites of food. We all left hungry and disappointed. Drinks were over-priced and nothing to brag about. This place is all about looks and appearance, not quantity nor quality.

Pleasant but pricey and salty. We celebrated our anniversary at Bricco this evening and enjoyed the 2006 Rioja ($57) with the special rib eye steak which was cooked just as ordered – medium rare – and came with blue cheese, carmelized shallots and jus. The other main was roasted pork which came with a few varieties of vegetables, a creamy sauce, mustard seeds and pork fat crisps – a little busy. Our shared starter was the scallops with bacon. Everything was cooked beautifully and the presentation was decent but the taste experience on the tongue was overshadowed by too much salt, which wasn’t necessary as I’m sure the underlying flavours were rich enough and more subtle flavours were lost. The shared desert was yoghurt panacotta with granita and pine nut brittle – refreshingly delicious after the salty meal. We each had an expresso and only one grappa. Service was decent, but overall, it is not good enough to justify way above the neighborhood prices ($220 incl. tax and tip). They don’t offer any bread and you have to pay extra to get potato and vegetable on your plate with your meal. For the price you would expect more.

A Welcome Addition to the Junction. Despite what another reviewer said about Bricco not being the best place for a romantic dinner, my wife and I found it to be just that. We found our server to be knowledgeable and courteous. The appetizers (grilled octopus, scallops) were on the pricey side but well worthwhile. The main dishes (lamb & pork) were cooked to perfection. The kitchen also accommodated our request for a side of polenta to go with the meat dishes. One of the best dining-out experiences we’ve had in a long timewe will certainly be back.

I’d say the summary is very good, not excellent, and pricey for what you get. $140 plus tip for two with two starters, wine and two desserts. The wine samplers were fun, but the reds were undistinguished: three rather similar cheap italian reds. The whites were more varied and interesting. If you want an excellent meal in the area for a very special occasion, I’d suggest the farmhouse tavern, which will be more crowded and frantic, but better food.

Expected more for the money. Not too much on the menu or it’s weird and pricy for the quantity.
