2018/12/27As we headed back home after a day trip, we stopped at Junction Local for dinner. It was less than half full when we arrived before 7 pm on the Friday after Christmas. The decor was warm and inviting, with wooden floors, wooden tables and dark wooden chairs. The walls were a very light olive colour. SWBMO selected the Brisket Linguini from the big things menu section. Along with the noodles and meat were mushrooms, onions and a savoury truffle sauce. Nice flavour in each bite. I picked the Chicken Wings with Salad from the specials chalkboard that our server placed near our table. Our server said the wings were coated with the same house made bbq sauce that they used for their ribs and chicken offerings. I was a bit surprised that all the wings were just flats, with no drums. I had expected some mix of both. I personally prefer the drums. The bbq sauce was smoky and mild, and tasted pretty good. Service was friendly and polite.

Their menu is simple but creative and changing just when you want to try something new. They have a nice selection of draft, bourbon and wine – FTW! A little secret I learned is the owner bakes many of the desserts there too. They are going to have patio too this summer so that will be great near my end of Dundas! You won’t be disappointed.
DO NOT BOOK YOUR GROUP GATHERING HERE.We had a reservation for a staff holiday party that was booked 3 months ago and Junction Local claims that we didn’t make a reservation, even though it’s clearly documented and confirmed in the email communication. We believe they forgot about us, then took on another much larger booking, and then refused to honour our reservation (despite it having been made earlier) because the larger party would provide them with more income. Either way, it’s utterly unacceptable and a terrible way to do business. Definitely have no interest in supporting such a flaky establishment with such little integrity.THANK YOU FOR RUNING OUR STAFF HOLIDAY PARTY.
