2018/09/02Four of us went to North of Bombay for dinner. We ordered our food family style, which I really like, because I get to sample a broader variety of dishes. We started out with the Assorted Indian Snacks, which came with two pieces each of Veg Samosa, Veg Pakora, and Onion Bhajia along with Tamarind sauce. We cut each item in two so that all four of us could have a bite. This was deep fried, salty goodness, with the tamarind providing sweet balance. The first of our three main dishes was Butter Chicken. The chicken was a little bit dry, but all the savoury sauce made up for that. Its the kind of sauce that you want to sop up every last drop with the fresh naan. Our second dish was Chicken Biryani. Nicely cooked saffron basmati rice with grilled chicken, veggies and cashews for some crunch. Our last dish was Aloo Gobi Masala. This is essentially a cauliflower and potato stew, with some bell peppers and other veg. Although it tasted fine, it was my least favourite of the three main dishes. Service was good and reasonably fast (although we were not in a hurry).

Menu prices are wrong, manager is very rude. I just had dinner at North of Bombay with my family of 6. The menu says Naan is $1.50 each, which is a good price, so we ordered 6. Naans came to $11.70 on the bill, so we asked the waitress, who said the naans are actually $1.95 each. We asked to talk to a manager, and he said yes, the naans are $1.95 each, and he showed us the take-out menu which he said was more recently priced. I said I’d like to pay the $1.50 and that’s when the manager started getting very rude and upset. He called me cheap, and said he would not reduce the price. He said if I’m going to argue over 50 cents he doesn’t want me or my family coming back again. It was by far the strangest interaction I have ever had with a restaurant manager. I paid the $11.70 for 6 naan, but I’ll certainly never go back to a restaurant that lists incorrect prices on the menu, but then charges whatever they want at the end!

Disappointed with Delivery area and service. I used to love this place, the food is of good quality, even though it is slightly overpriced. However, I’ll have to forgo my favourite Indian in the city, because since I have moved, apparently 3.8 kms is too far for delivery, and out of your delivery area? North of Bombay won’t venture to Queen and Brock, Really…. 3.8 kms is too far for DELIVERY? That’s ridiculous.

VEGAN FRIENDLY. A long of Vegetarian and Vegan dishes. So happy to be here since I found this place very regular. Dishes here are non greasy and healthy. Very tasty food and portion size is very generous. We also have left over for lunch next and it taste even better next day.Complements to the chef…..Keep it Up!

Our favourite place in the Junction. I admit, writing reviews is kind of passe’, but I was surprised by the negative reviews – just had to say this is my wife’s and my favourite place to order Indian food. As another reviewer commented, the food isn’t oily. It always arrives hot, fresh, and flavourful. The only way to improve the food would be to deliver cold G&Ts as well, but alas – not in Ontario. We’ve ordered a lot, but not exactly everything on the menu – still, I think its safe to say you can’t go wrong.

Delicious Authentic Indian Food!. I really enjoyed going to this restaurant for the first time the other day. People have been telling me they have the best butter chicken and samosas and now I know why! You can tell these people put a lot of love into their food, and I was happy to know that ingredients were fresh and each dish was cooked to order. I also enjoyed how beautiful the place was, great for an impressive date.
