2018/07/08Tonights dinner was a takeout meal from General Tsos. While they do have a few tables and a small dining area (empty when I picked up my order), my guess is the majority of their business is takeout. Our meal included:35. Chicken Fried Rice73. Beef with Broccoli 82. Cashew Chicken 110. Stir-Fried Eight TreasuresSWMBO and I disagreed about this meal. She liked the flavours, but I thought they were just okay.
Fried rice with chicken has overcooked, dry breast meat as well as chopped white onion, which is a strange choice but adds a nice pungency and crunch. Fried rice with BBQ pork is a little more successful, although this protein also needs work; a limp imitation of the true, deliciously sweet BBQ pork. Their namesake dish tastes too much like a spicy orange chicken, when it should be more garlicky, gingerly and soy sauce(-y?). Ginger beef is crispy and so savoury that your mouth fills with water at first taste, which is a great accompaniment to their under seasoned Shanghai noodles.Prices are very affordable, especially considering their massive portions (read: impossibly large fried rice).
My husband and i order from here all the time. Go to Chinese place. They give a cash discount if order is over $20. Not really a sit down restaurant but more takeout. Owners are very polite! Love their chow mein, pad thai, and shanghai noodles. I don’t like that their lemon chicken is not the traditional chicken tossed in sauce you’d expect. Takes about 10 minutes to make to meals and they’re open pretty late!
Chicken Chow Mein. Tossed egg noodles fried with shrimps, beef, chicken, BBQ Pork & Garden fresh vegetables31 Jan, 2015Best chinese food in town.. When we lost our chinese food place that we had been using for a very long time, we tried many locations but none compared. Then just after New year’s eve we searched and discovered General Tso’s Kitchen and what a wonderful discovery!!! The food is absolutely delicious, fresh and the staff and drivers are all extremely nice to deal with. We hope they stay in business for a very long time. We highly recommend and give them 5 stars.
