I have been to this place twice already with my handicapped son. The only issue that has been difficult for us is the tight entry way which makes maneuvering the wheelchair a real task and a half. That being said, the artistry that is present here even on the lunch specials is extraordinary. The good news is that we are doing some business with another member of this little plaza and that will always be a good excuse to go visit Hub. If you stick to the lunch specials it is a little more expensive than a Big Mac Meal at McDonalds. But not by much, the meal I had was $16. With the quality and imagination of the special rolls though I can see myself spending a great deal more on an epic sushi pig out! If you want a great sushi eating experience, you got to eat here. Check out my picture of my lunch… a thing of beauty.
This restaurant is a hidden jewel. The place is tiny. The quality of sushi is amazing. They have such a big selection of fancy rolls. The price is around 12$ for 8 piece rolls where somewhere else they charge $16 for this type and quality. Have been there twice and will go again. The service is great too.
I can’t remember what roll this was specifically but I have been to the restaurant for multiple visits. The food is fairly good and I’ve never had a bad experience. Sashimi is always fresh and the rolls are always well made! The restaurant is fairly small. The only feedback I have is that they always seem understaffed because sometimes I’ll see tables lined up with piles of plates left on empty tables. Doesn’t make for a very inviting environment.
Came on a Thursday evening. Glad I came. It was really good. I always like finding great new places in my neighbourhood.Location:In thornhill off of yonge and Clarke. On the Vaughan side of thornhill. Just north of the mess that is yonge and steeles. Parking:Suburbs. So yeah, there’s parking. I think they even have some underground parking. It’s also close to the Clarke viva stop. Decor:It’s pretty nice. Smaller. Not quite what I would call tiny, but close. Decor wise pretty nice. Dark wood, modern but not to modern. Music, you can hear it, but it doesn’t affect your conversation. Weird combo of gangsta rap and Japanese pop. Seating- tables and the table booth hybrid. Food:Loved my meal shared a dinner for two. Tempura, Sushi, sashimi, soup, salad, using, dessert and special roll. We got a lobster roll for a bit extra. Worth itThis not an all you can eat place yet I feel I ate more than I ever had at one. Everything was delicious! Quality product. Everything came in pairs except the tempura which was weird. No even Steven. But liked it, not greasy, nice and crispy. Even the soup and salad I liked.I preferred their sashimi to the sushi. There wasn’t a lot of flavour to the sushi. I think I’m saying it wrong. Lobster roll was HUGE!! One thing about the rolls, they were wonderfully put together! They never fell apart like they do in some places! It also was delicious. I’d get it again!!I’m not the biggest fan of soup using but liked it. The noodles were cut a bit smaller so I didn’t end up wearing the broth like I normally do. Staff:Really nice, great staff. One thing, that was really annoying, very very annoying. Some woman kept coming to our table every 10 minutes to ask if everything was ok. Yes, yes it is, leave us alone Conclusion:Good food, atmosphere and location. Will be back. Conclusion:Loved the food whatlynnate.wordpress.com
We had lobster roll, chicken teriyaki, Sashimi salad, dumplings, and Sashimi salad. Best dishes are lobster roll and Sashimi salad. Will come back to try other rolls. RM
I ordered the $14 unagi Don combo which comes with a miso soup and salad, and added a tempura for 3$. The tempura was freshly deep fried and arrived very hot. My friend ordered the chirashi Don combo with the tempura as well. Strange thing was his tempura arrived first. Unagi Don had a large portion and was delicious. Overall a good experience and I will come back again when I am in the area.
I came with a friend here on a Sunday evening during dinner time. It’s not a large restaurant butit has a nice decor in a cozy environment. After a short wait we were seated. They have dinnerspecials as well as a la carte items. They all come with miso soup and a salad. I decided to get the chef’s special (12 Sushi rolls). My friend decided on the Sashimi dinner special (14 pieces = 8 Sashimi + 6 Sushi rolls). After a long wait, the waitress came over and offered us four complimentary fried dumplings. That was a nice gesture. When our dinners came out, they were very colorfully presented. Each had a centerpiece with an avocado seed as the base with a flower sticking out of it. To acknowledge that our dinners took awhile, they gave us each a couple of complimentary pieces of sashimi and sushi rolls. The fish were really fresh and they did not over do it with the rice. This allowed the taste of the wasabi soy sauce and the fish to come through. Overall, I really liked the dining experience and they even let us keep thecenterpiece!
