Hated it as Mediterranean – even worse as Italian
This restaurant has a serious identity crisis. It’s food is abysmal! The service and ambiance is not bad. We paid $ 27 and $ 28 for the Rainbow Trout and Skirt steak respectively. The meat was ok at best but the sides were terrible! Would you believe the deserts were bad too. We got a soggy tiramisu and bone dry waffles. We are never going back there again.
Classic bait and switch. So they offer a Groupon deal which essentially equates to 50% off. Then they drop all their high ticket items and lower the menu prices 25%. The promotion specifically mentions rack of lamb, which they no longer offer. Good job Mideastro. The most expensive item on their menu is well under $30, but they still advertise the Groupon value as ‘$110’. Don’t fall for their misleading business practices!
They never have what you want. Mideastro is as constant string of disappointments. Sometimes they don’t have veal, sometimes they don’t have fish, sometimes they don’t have wine and sometimes they don’t have dessert. The most egregious was when I tried to order their signature mushroom and goat cheese salad… and was promptly informed they don’t have it.. I honestly can’t say I’d waste my time with this restaurant anymore. There is always something they are out of. I eat out at restaurants I like for their consistency. Mideastro has none.
Could’ve been so much better.. Overall not impressed. Service is okay, nothing to write home about. The warm bread and the dips they bring are a nice touch but none are particularly impressive. Limited menu selection, and on top they didn’t have a few of the items we wanted. My friend ordered the trout and it came out mangled and shredded… I’d expect more from an ‘upscale’ restaurant. Dessert was also not too bad, but the selection is a joke.
Poor quality restaurant. Is this restaurant on the verge of bankruptcy? We were at the restaurant a group of 30, celebrating a retirement party. The food came in sampler portions, expensive, for sure not a good value for money. It took a long time for the main course to be served, that if you were lucky to get it at all. They ran out of chicken, a pasta came instead, 40 minutes late, without any apology. We had a set menu arranged prior, for $50.00. The desert was a miniature, as for tea only Orange Pekoe was offered, or black coffee. I would not recommend this restaurant, it’s pretentious and expensive, poor menu and a very rude owner.
