One of my favourites. The setting is beautiful, especially on the patio, and the staff are friendly. BBQ entrees are the best, as are sandwiches and salads. I can’t give the desserts full marks – the pie crust is just OK – but that’s a minor quibble.
Mad Michaels is one of the top restaurants of it’s kind in Canada. The smoke house produces excellent results and the menu offers lots of choice. Service is consistently good and friendly. It’s good to see Michael work the front shop as he serves and greets his customers. Canada needs more smoke houses like Mad Michaels. It’s worth the drive to this little village.
Blind squirril. Even a blind squirril get’s a nut every once in a while… but it’s hard to believe a bad experience at Mad Michael’s. I have to defend this place it was awesome.If you had stayed for the food you might see why it was so busy. All of the food: bread, salads, sauces, deserts are made from scratch. We couldn’t believe how good it was – these people obviously love food. For the price, this place delivers some of the tastiest entrees, hugest portions and most incredible atmosphere in all the area. As for service – we were on the patio when Mad Michael stopped at our table on his way back to the smoke house and invited us to have a look. Huge racks of ribs rotate slowly over smoking oak, needless to say that’s all it took for me to make my mind up. After having some of the best ribs and corn bread we’ve ever had we were hooked. Just an amazing cottage county experience, looking forward to going back this summer.
Very poor service. Even thought we had reservations we were not made welcome were told to sit at an very small table with no leg room under it and waited so long for someone to come back we left.
