This is a Mainland Chinese place serving Northern- and Szechuan- style food in Chinatown. The room is quite large and the decor is a few notches above its neighbours (nice and clean washroom too). Service is professional and polite but can get a bit slow during rush. The menus is varied and the food is fresh, tasty and comes in huge portions. The soups, house-made noodles and grilled skewers are all recommended. Prices have gone up recently, but still a good deal!
The food is very fresh and well made. The ingredients are quality and portion sizes are generous. Noodles are handmade and extremely flavorful! 2 noodle plates served 4 people. The garlic broccoli was presented prettily and cooked perfectly with just the right amount of garlic. The chive pancake (pictured) was disappointing. It was more like a chive filled pastry than a pancake.Service was very attentive and atmosphere very comfortable. Water was brought promptly and refilled quickly.
Overall: Great Northern-Chinese Food, Big PortionsI came here for a quick late night snack. This place was perfect for it, because it had a variety of Northern Chinese food, like the BBQ on skewers. I had a BBQ Squid, and it was one of the best Chinese BBQ I’ve had in Toronto- the squid was really big and flavoured really nicely with different Chinese spices. So good. Also, you can get Preso Tea (bubble tea) here as well (pretty interesting). The service was good too; the waiter was really friendly, though the food came out a little slow. I definitely want to come back here again to try out different dishes!
Wonton Soup. I had this from day one I walked in before Christmas. Surprising big bowl of wonton listed in the dim sum menu section….not sure the wontons or combination of soup, all I know is far superb in taste than dozen downtown Chinese Restaurants in the area.29 Dec, 2014Item 901/905: Handmade Noodle Soups ( Beef Or Chicken ). Not so Thick but with correct texture handmade noodles just right match with their soup.29 Dec, 2014Item 901/905: Handmade Noodle Soups ( Beef Or Chicken ). The handmade noodle is just right and the best in downtown Toronto. Adding the soup, beef or chicken, so addictive as Vietnamese Pho in Kensington mkt.29 Dec, 2014Great handmade noodle soups – item 901 to 905. I’ve been there a few times addicted to the soup in menu item #901 to 905.The handmade noodle with the brooth combination are just right in every way. However, the dishes in menu are huge and rather confusing. I spotted couple Chefs sneaking in while I was there, including well known famous Susu Lee.
Great Find in Chinatown. My wife and I found this newly opened restaurant while walking down Dundas Street. We were attracted to a number of the menu pictures on display outside so we decided to go inside to try it out.Glad we did!My wife is Chinese born and raised and at home prepares for me authentic cuisine This is kind of like what the food at Anne’s reminds me of- home cooked genuine Chinese food prepared by someone who cares about youThere are hundreds of restaurants in Chinatown but we have yet to come across any with the regional dishes you will find hereThe decor is modern and clean, the staff friendly and the food oh so goodI strongly recommend you treat yourself to dinner here!
