I tried out Birreria Volo for the first time recently. They have an extensive tap list ordered alphabetically from A to Z, which is pretty cool, so you can order a ‘C’ or the drink name. The range is great for beer drinkers, but since I was drinking cider, I was really disappointed by the prices! Beer is priced by 10 oz pours while cider was priced about $6.50 to $7.00 for 5 oz pours! Yikes! I’m used to cider being a dollar or two more, but not twice as much!Service was slow and infrequent, which wasn’t great. Since you order everything at the bar, I suppose it wasn’t a big deal, but it would still be nice if someone could swing by every so often so I can ask for things like a napkin, for instance. I suppose I could ask at the bar, though! As for food, it was just okay. I paid $11 for two appetizers and they were… okay. I was hoping there would be a bit more to the olives than just a bunch of olives plunked in a dish. The artichokes were alright, but they were piled high with parmesan. It seemed a bit like overkill! I ordered the Tuscan Kale Caesar Salad, and once again, it didn’t impress me too terribly. The good news was that the kale wasn’t bitter, but the bad news was that the flavour just didn’t pop like other kale caesar salads I’ve had! (La Carnita being the best of the bunch so far). My recommendation: hit it up if you’re a craft beer fan; else, it might not suit your tastes.

A great TGIF place with an extensive A-Z of beers which you walk up and order, overlooking other challenges along the way such as the patrons / serve staff ratio. Oh yes, they serve Stout as well, as fuzzily pictured
