Remarkable. One of the top meals I’ve had in Toronto in recent memory. The biscuits are so buttery and perfectly crispy on the outside and moist and fluffy on the inside, but not worth the $10 price tag for 2. Crispy jambalaya was unexpected – rolled into a ball and deep fried gave the outside a delightful crunchy outside. Beef short rib was out of this world delicious. If I were to only get one dish at this place, that would be it. A must have for sure. The duck and dumplings were the only real food ‘downside’, but even that was tasty. It just wasn’t as revolutionary as the other dishes.

Really enjoyed our dinner here, great service and unique flavours. The corn bread wasn’t great, the texture was crumbly the butter too sweet (I was wishing for a few flakes of salt) but it was great to have gluten free bread at the table. The tuna was very pleasant, and luckily had a nice amount of the fish, the watermelon and grapes made it a summery treat. The prawn grits were great but the real star was the beef ribs with the sliver of pear. The flavours were subtle but brilliant and the texture of the meat was very soft. Sadly the brownie was no longer flourless but it sounded great.

Really loved this place. Great interior and awesome service. Couple standouts were obviously the shrimp and grits which are mind blowing. And the beef wagyu carpaccio was insane. Definitely a must try.

Came here for the Sunday Supper (set menu for $35) and felt it was a mixed-bag. The salad was unique and delish, the grits wasliterally to-die-for (I can eat buckets of that) but the asparagus was unfortunately swimming in oil. Also, both meat dishes were way too salty. The stuffed chicken was unbelievably juicy and tender but it was quite salty. The ribs were well cooked and not too dry but it was actually just a few degrees from uneatable because it was THAT salty (or maybe we just got two bad racks…?). If the chef could have just dialed it back on the salt this meal would have been absolutely perfect! thehappysloths.com

This placed is hyped up a lot and it’s good, compared to many of the other amazing choices in Toronto it falls a bit flat. The sea bass was my favourite, it was like a ceviche, very tasty. The prawns had a very strange taste to them. I also tried the cornbread, short ribs, and steak which are good but I wouldn’t necessarily go back. The vibe of the place is the best part, very busy, very hip.

Had high expectations from this collaboration between Matt Blondin and the Food Dudes – and it did not disappoint. Inventive, delicious and well constructed dishes made for an enjoyable dining experience. Our table ordered the fried chicken, cornbread, blackened catfish, mussels on toast, beef short ribs, shrimp and grits, seared scallops, chicken and dumplings, pecan pie and keylime. All amazing flavours, including the desserts! Favorites were the fried chicken and shrimp and grits. The only negative comment I have is that some of the dishes were served room temperature not hot. Nonetheless, this does not deter me from going back to have more of their tasty food.
