Not Nona’s SanFran Anymore. Been going to SanFrans on Clinton since the 70’s. Went in Jan and new ownership…claimed nothing would change, was ok but not the same. Back again March…soggy buns, veal dry, sauce tasted watered down. Not going back again.
Never Fails. Delicious saucy veal sandwiches, made to order. The best thing is that you can take it next door to the Monarch Tavern and have a pint or a glass of wine with it.
California sandwiches is nearby and a lit tastier!! San Francesco on Clinton steet’s veal had an old flavor. Sauce wasn’t absorbed into veal, you could tell it was added to the bun rather than simmered with the veal

Sandwich & Beer. Grab a sandwich, I had the chicken w/cheese & onions $7, then went next door to the Monarch to eat it with a pint. Hard to go wrong, at this small local friendly spot.
