This restaurant is a hidden gem. Tucked away into a small plaza, you would never know about its tasty delights without an invitation. The ala carte bbq skewers are packed with incredible flavor and come fresh off the grill. Small and large appetites are easily accommodated allowing you to order as much or as little as you feel comfortable eating. While our group sat outside on the patio tables, there is ample seating inside to accommodate small to medium groups. While the beer wasn’t fantastic you get good value for the low price. I would go back specifically for the lamb and beef skewers. Yum! The chicken was good but overshadowed by the other meats.
Small Northern Chinese restaurant on Pharmacy and McNicoll. The place itself shares a wall with another Northern restaurant so they’re competing neighbors in a sense. This one happens to have a pretty nice patio though which is odd for a Chinese restaurant.Menu is simple. Lots of BBQ skewers and some Northern staples as well. We ordered BBQ Lamb, BBQ Beef, and BBQ Chicken Breast skewers. The Beef and Chicken skewers were ok. The beef was dry and though it had nice seasoning and taste, I couldn’t get over just how dry it was. The chicken breast was very tender and juicy. The real treasure though was the lamb skewers. I absolutely loved them and I don’t even like lamb. They were seasoned nicely (maybe a bit too heavily), but were so tender and tasty. The skewers are only $1.99 a stick and were giant. If you’re ever in the mood to have some BBQ Skewers, you have to make your way out here. The 3.5 stars are strictly for the skewers as I’m unsure of anything else the place has to offer. Be sure to come out to the patio as well. Very rare to have patios in Markham as most Asians avoid the sunlight like the plague. cheatdayeveryday.com
