Blue ocean is a Hong Kong cafe in Markham. The portions are generous and quite tasty. Service is quick as well. I had the baked cheese chicken penne which was very cheesy and filling, in a good way! Good choice for a satisfying meal!
I’ve heard so much about this Hong Kong-style cafe! Tried some of their signature items today. Overall pretty good, and the prices are definitely wallet-friendly, but nothing amazing. The milk tea has a *really* strong black tea flavour, which is great and hard to find. The Baked Spaghetti Bolognese and Singapore-Style Fried Vermicelli are above average (not too oily!), and the curries are fragrant but not spicy enough. I’d return to try other items, but overall just a solid average score.
I love coming here… Always busy which says a lot. Basic HK breakfast, good food for decent price. Staff is sometimes hard to get a hold of because it’s busy but food comes out quick. I come here once a week and would recommend!
Above average HK style cafe. Must trys are iced coffee and curry soft bone rib rice. Should go to this place just to try those two things if you haven’t been. Recommended.RM
I came here after a couple of hours of bargain hunting at Markville Mall (came away with a couple of shirts). My belly was still satisfied after morning dim sum at an okay restaurant earlier in the day. Therefore, the perfect item to order was their french toast ($3.99) that includes a drink. When it arrived, it put a wide smile on my face as it was just what the doctor ordered! Between a couple of thick toast was a layer of peanut butter deep fried in an egg batter. I swear, after putting the butter and syrup on top it is just as satisfying as having a New York sirloin! Every bite was goodness and I didn’t want it to stop. I finished with a HK milk tea which was also excellent. Maybe that’s why this place was packed with the young and old even at 3:00pm.
The japanese hokkaido ramen was really good and the drinks were good too. They have free wifi but it doesn’t really work.
Updated review: recently. Food has been off. My beef sauce was SOOO watered down the consistency was disgusting Service was horrible. Waited 15 minutes for a tea refill. I am getting in touch with a food editor to review this restaurant. Hopefully the owner of this restaurant knows his restaurant is going downhill. Pretty decor does not save you from unsatisfactory food.
