One of the many things I miss in Hk are the street foods and my favorite would be the skewers of curried fish balls! I remember staining my pre-school uniform eating a skewer of saucy curried fish balls! There are special combination of fish types that produce the bounciness in the tiny balls. Unfortunately, the ‘bouncy’ is missing in the fish balls found in Canada.Nonetheless at Fish ball place the sauce is good. Personally, I found their curried beef balls quite good. I would probably pass on the fish balls and escargots. The escargots were slightly chewy and had a very strong ‘ocean’ aroma. I think I will try other varieties next time offered there. Such as: tripe, squid and beef delicacies. Not many eateries make this old school dish because of the amount of work it takes.I was happy that my HK street snack craving was satisfied at Fish Ball Place today .

Oddly enough, Fish Ball Place was one of the first places I tried in coming to Toronto. When with the parentals, it was understood that Pacific Mall was a hot spot for us Asians. Despite how crappy I thought the mall was, the food court was rather impressive, hence this spot. They have a pretty extensive menu of skewers. I was impressed again. My parents were inclined to try a great number of these skewers from chicken kidneys, lobster balls, fish balls in curry sauce, etc. The only ones I really enjoyed were the fish balls. Incredibly soft and tender without being mushy and the curry sauce was light and enjoyable. Some of their other items like the lobster balls and chicken hearts were meh.Everything is super cheap and you can get a decent amount for little cash. Plus, it could hit on many people’s adventurous sides as they have some odd items like snails, tripe, cuttlefish, pigskin and human flesh.Ok….that last one was made up… cheatdayeveryday.com

We all know Pacific Mall (@ThePacificMall), the largest indoor Chinese mall in North America, is synonymous with retail shops selling bubble tea, phone cases & accessories, fake designer bags, electronics & DVDs, and even rims! But I always crave fish balls when I am there. My go-to place has always been on the first floor. So you can imagine my shock when I initially discovered the space was replaced with a nail salon! But fear not, the aptly named Fish Ball Place was relocated to the second floor food court. It’s a great place to stop by for an afternoon snack ranging from fish & beef balls to tripe & Taiwanese sausage! urbanfoodie.me
