I was here with my family for my aunt’s birthday. Recently these types of seafood boil houses has circulate within the City. Seafood boil houses have orginated in Louisiana and it’s a fantastic and tasty way to prepare seafood. Bagging fresh seafood with good flavorful broth. Yummy!Good catch is pretty spacious and similar to other boil houses offers plastic bibs and buckets for the seafood shells. We ordered a variety of seafood that night. Clams, mussels, shrimp and lobster. We went with the regualr spicy pot and Szechaun! At first I was a bit skeptical about the Szechaun bag but it was actually very tasty! Loved the slight heat on my palate. It really brought out the seafood flavors, primary the mussels! The fish and chips was okay but nothing to write home about and similarly with the lobster roll and fries. I thought the actual lobster would be very good at the Good catch but it was rather dissapointing. The meat was slightly limp and sunken in within the shell. Also the meat was quite bland in flavor.@All in all it was a fair meal. But in all honesty I wasn’t very full at the end of the night. Seafood by the bag and by the pound can add up immensely. Will I be returning? May be but no guarantees.Food – 3Ambience – 3.5Service – 3Creativity – 2.5Value – 3Overall grade – 15/25= 60% (D-)
While the food was pretty good, the service was awful. For some reason, the server did not provide us with bibs nor gloves, and we didn’t realize that it was part of the dining experience until we left and saw other tables had them. We also felt rushed and the server kept coming to our table which was very uncomfortable. It seemed we were treated differently for no apparent reason. The hot lobster roll was ok, but not worth the price. The lobster was very chewy and it only came with one sandwich, while most places will give you two. The Cajun fries and sweet potato fries were delicious, as well as the pound of shrimp. I really wanted to have a good experience here, but can’t help but feel singled out and unappreciated by the service.
I received an invite to attend their media day, where attendees are mostly bloggers, instagrammers, or other media personnel. Ive been going to more of these events and find one thing in common amongst all the participants, their cameras eat first lols. Anyhow, cool people, different culture. Who am I kidding? I do the same thing! Except my pictures suck haha.EventThis was extremely well planned, I felt like a total celebrity. I just want to stress that the restaurant probably went all out. So much food! Not to mention, all you can drink booze! Everyone was greeted with appetizers and FREE oysters at the bar. And you know how I could tell I was a newbie? They already had a table set with food so that bloggers could snap their shots. Blinding light flashes, damn. Later in the night, people were divided into groups and sat with 3-5 other individuals and had a tasting menu. I was so full. Even when we were leaving, the restaurant gave us coupons and gifts. I was in awe.FoodI ate too much, cant even remember half of it lols. To be fair, this restaurant has a good amount of variety but their selling points are definitely the seafood dishes. Now, I did come back to the restaurant on a normal day when I wasnt treated as a celebrity lol. Their service was good, super busy on a weekend, and waitresses were attentive and nice. Checkmark on service please! Here are my recommendations if you plan to make a visit: Fried oyster sliders (I believe this is like a 8.5/10 in taste) The bagged seafood (Their house sauce is quite good)Everything else in my opinion was mediocre. I would probably avoid the salad because its a little bland. thesfarm.wordpress.com
Came here after watching beauty and the beast. I had their salad which was totally Delilah and a big salad at that.If you love seafood then this is the place.
