Bad customer feeling: dark room and long waiting time and no smile no words when serving dishes, toasted fish charged by weight but no prior show and no agreement, a direct charge with a weight believed much more than the actual.fairly large quantity and ok taste, ca.35$/person

The food was too salty and not spicy. Our friends recommended for us and we got high expectations. It turned out to be so much disappointment. Is there any server? Oh yes, after asking for order and water for several times, the server showed up. My friend’s glass was empty and asked the server if the server could give some water. The server just left a pitcher of water and gone. We finished out dishes and no one came to us for at least 10 minutes with only thee tables in the restaurant. The only good thing is that the food came out really quick.

Red Sichuan Cuisine. Went with friends Friday last week…..decor and layout was easy on the eyes; perhaps a bit noisy but restaurant was full. Overall I had quite a delightful dining experience; there was very little delay in getting the food……this was helpful, as were all very hungry indeed. We enjoyed the very authentic tastes and spices on offer and attention to detail in the food presentation was exquisite. Boy those dumplings…….they were just to die for.At the end of the evening, we braced somewhat for what the size of the check was likely to be, but this was the biggest surprise of all. This was quite affordable indeed, in spite of the # of beers that we imbibed. Kinda felt like there may have been some error in the bill ….Clifton R

No customer service. I’ve been to The Red a few times in the past six months, and although the first visits were fair in terms of food quality, authenticity, and portions at average prices, the service has been unattentive and slow. This last time has indeed been the very last time: there were only a handful of other tables on a Friday evening, yet they somehow failed to get our order to the kitchen (which we sat 10 feet away from) and none of the 4 waitstaff noticed or bothered to check in. After more than 30 minutes (and no tea refills), we finally asked and after a few minutes of confusion on their end figuring out who the order taker was, they tried to retake it.Very disappointedly, my party of 4 did what we almost never do and walked out, hungry. Good thing Congee Queen is just next door, and we were seated, ordered, and got all our 5 tasty dishes within 30 minutes easy.

I was driving by this plaza for a couple of times. just reallized THE RED is a real SICHUAN food restaurant. although we just had lunch and didn’t try their hard core part of menu. We think this place has lots of highlight for people in Markham to enjoy it. First of all, their food is amazing and w. a good portion. The lunch combo is only $7.99 w. soup, spring roll, and a cup of iced tea. For sure it’s better than a big Mac. their service is awsome. All the staff can speak English very well and they actually was taking care of us. Their decore is a big plus. For sure the business operator has put a lots of efforts into this nice restaurant.

Bad service. The service was terrible and the food was extremely salty.

Best szechuan/sichuan restaurant. I was delighted to spot this newly opened restaurant on Hwy 7, east of McCowan. The decor is modern, staff was friendly and attentive. The three of us went there on a Friday evening after browsing their online menu. The quality and quantity of their dishes are perfect, by far the most delicious in Markham. The only regret is that we should have gone there with more people, we had a hard time picking three dishes out of the 200+ dishes they offered. Will definitely go back to try every one of them.
