Awesome. I went to this restaurant after reading the reviews here and wasn’t sure what to expect as the reviews here are pretty varied. The staff here are very welcoming and friendly. I went to this restaurant on an evening that wasn’t very busy (just a few other tables were occupied), so perhaps they would have been less attentive had they had more clients, seeing as they seem to have very few staff here. The decor was like something out of a Columbo episode (70s-80s italian diner), which I love, but the style might not be for everyone, especially people who are really into very modern decor, but it was very cozy, with great music playing throughout the evening. The prices are decent. I had a salad and a pasta dish; the portions were healthy – not too little nor too much – and everything was delicious. The red house wine was fine; I haven’t been to this place in the summer, so maybe that makes the difference. I will go back to this place for sure.

Fresh pasta, friendly service, affordable prices. One of the most reliable spots to eat, time after time. Close to downtown without the downtown parking & traffic hassle. A favorite spot! One cautionary note: Ask to have your wine chilled a bit — even red wine shouldn’t be warmer than the room.

Good Italian food, good value!. Il Vagabondo is a cute, neighbourhood bistro which serves good home-made pasta and other nice Italian dishes, soups, salads, and desserts. Prices are reasonable and the wine list is also good. Gluten-free pasta and other dietary restrictions are respected. The owner gave us (8 people) a separate room where we could hear each other and not disturb others. This restaurant has been around for a long time and is dependable and always provides a nice dining experience.

Good food, cosy , good wine selection. Service good but ladies run to much to please customer . A bit pricy for the portion but very tasty

I had the ravioli and it was fresh and delicious, the only issue I had was the portion for the price.

Yucky !!. The restaurant is cozy but the lady owner seems to be out of her element, pushed her choices for us to order; running to the kitchen every second, not letting the waitress do her job, micromanaging everything. I was surprised we were not charged for the extra water, the lasagna tasted like it had been frozen for a while and the ravioli had also been frozen. No way that is cooked to order, maybe but for sure all had been frozen for at least a week or even more. We could hear the lady patronize the staff in the kitchen. — NO WAY we would ever return to that place.

A cozy and friendly restaurant with great, authentic Italian food. Everything is fresh and perfectly made to order. Get the cannelloni or the ravioli! The veal is fabulous too! :)Definitely some of the best Italian I’ve had in Ottawa.
