I’ve been to Maison Baguettes several times. It’s a great place to grab a quick lunch. The soup and sandwich is always my go-to choice. The sandwiches are always delicious and made to order. The soups I’ve had were always fresh and well seasoned. Also love their $1 homemade gigantic muffins!
I haven’t had a lot of their food. But I am a huge fan of their chocolate croissants! I wanted to get a few for Mother’s Day and called to see if they had any. The woman that Answered said she had only two left and I needed more. She offered to make fresh ones and to come by in half an hour. As promised I was able to pick up freshly baked croissants. Very appreciated and so delicious!
This place is honestly perfect and I can’t get over these 99 cent muffins.
An excellent spot for lunch !!!!. My wife and I and our son and neighbors have visited Maison Baquettes for lunch a couple of times and we love this place !! The food is excellent. The atmosphere is very homey and the people who work at Maison Baquettes make you feel right at home. It is a great place and we would definitely recommend this place to all of our friends to try. We are return Customers and we really like this place a lot ! Great food, very generous portions at affordable prices and a very nice and inviting atmosphere. Keep up the great work !Kevin, Debbie and Ryan SheaOttawa
Good bread, what’s up with the service??. I have gone here to pick up bread and croissants on numerous occasions. Those two items are so good, which is why I keep going back. The butter and almond croissants, baguettes, other bread, rolls, bread pudding (probably used with unsold croissants, but is very good and decadent nonetheless) are all top notch and a good price. But I feel like I have to brace myself every time I go because the staff is so unpleasant. I have never so much as seen a smile in that place. They all must really hate to work there. Also, they don’t tell you Interac has a rather large fee until they hand you the pinpad and you see they added $1.50 or whatever to your total.
Not interested in returning. I’ve been to Maison Baguettes twice as I live relatively close to it. I’ve found the food lacking any imagination and often taste. I went once for lunch and they just make a plain old sandwich with deli meat and cheese and put it in a sandwich press. There was just nothing special about it. I could just as easily make a better tasting sandwich at home where I can use fresher ingredients and vegetables which they were lacking. I most recently went for breakfast where they only had a couple of warm food options. I had the French Toast which wasn’t bad but again not great. The muffins and cinnamon bun though were very good. The staff were not very welcoming and somewhat unpleasant. I didn’t see anything or experience anything that I’d want to return for as I’ve found other places for fresh baked goods. They do have fresh bread that I believe they make but I didn’t purchase any.
Great pumpkin pie!. I bought a delicious pumpkin pie here for thanksgiving for only $5.99!!! It’s very eclectic and kind of a sweet place inside. They have all sorts of baked goods, breads, buns, tarts, pies and more. You can grab a quick lunch or have a coffee on the patio. I think it’s a sweet spot if you are in Vanier.
