Best plantains!. Probably the best chicken in Ottawa as well. The plantains taste like candy. Mmmmm
Wow!. I ordered deliver from Pili Pili on skip the dishes and was skeptical. I ordered a whole chicken and an order of rice. I figured I’d share my chicken with my dog who is a chicken-take out junky and I legit wanted to hide the food so I wouldn’t have to share. Anyway, just repeated my order tonight (2 days after my first order), only I ordered 2 chickens so I don’t have to hide from the dog. Food was great!
Tried this place as it was highly recommended to us. It did not disappoint. Chicken was delicious and very tasty (ordered medium and thought the spice level was perfect). For two whole chickens, salad, rice and a generous portion of plantain for 35$ you can’t go wrong. Order ahead of time – wait can be long!
Excellent chicken, Red Snapper to die for!. After some excellent chicken over the holidays, we dedided to try the Red Snapper platter. When we called to order they didn’t have any on Dalhousie but said if we could wait about an hour they would get some from their other location. When we said we would settle for the Tilapia they told us no, the Snapper was special and they would go out of their way to turn us on to what is their specialty.Largely reminiscent of Portuguese style grilled fish, our take-out had a fairly good sized whole snapper with a very tasty and crispy Pili Pili seasoned skin that tasted charcoal… yum! The meat was succulent and grilled to perfection. The dish came served on a bed of seasoned yellow rice, fried plantains (amazingly good…don’t bother with potatoes), a chunky salsa which was the perfect complement to the fish, and a small container of their very potent Pili Pili pepper sauce. All this fed 2 people with leftovers for a very reasonable $20.People… don’t stop at the chicken…for an authentic experience that was largely the inspiration for Portuguese style grilled fish, get yourself the Snapper platter. For fish lovers, you won’t regret it!
Best chicken and best service. The chicken at this place is insane! Some of the best you will ever eat.And the hot sauce you can get on the side is the best. Everything is so fresh and tasty. The guys who run it, Chad and Ramon are probably the nicest guys you will ever meet. They treat you like your one of the family.Sometimes I go back just to say hi to those guys. Also, prices are great! and lunch special is hard to beat.
Fantastic Chicken and Plantain. It was simply scrumptious and the people there are fantastic. This family owned establishment’s food is worth trying. There’s also one in the market for the folks who don’t want to trek it out to vainer, 205 Dalhousie Street. They have a lunch special of a 1/4 chicken and plantain/rice/fries for $5.29 Oct, 2014Chicken and Plantain. Hardwood charcoal grilled chicken. simply splendid.
Fantastic food better service. The people who own the restaurant are so friendly and this place makes delicious food at affordable prices. Go there and love it!
