Excellent dinner! Comfortab…. Excellent dinner!Comfortable, great atmosphere, friendly and welcoming.Service was very good and staff knowledgable on menu and wine.We had an enjoyable time.First time there and will go again.
Remarkable. The food at Barcellos is remarkable, so remarkable in fact that I am writing a restaurant review for the very first time in my life! The food is pure and simple, no cheap fillers, fresh and top quality in my opinion. A perfect example of you get what you pay for; prime ingredients and best of all, they dont try to fill you up with bread and carbs and then serve a skimpy meal, you get a full tasteful meal. Nelson, the owner is passionate about his menu and eager to discuss and present his top quality meats and seafood at random. The food is comparable to the incredible service, you feel like part of the family here. Having worked in the service industry for over 25 years I am blown away at how he and his wife Janice have managed to cultivate and maintain such incredible staff interesting and funny, very knowledgeable about the food and the area. After a long day it is a treat to land at Barcellos even just for a drink and an appetizer, you can always be assured of a warm welcome.I have dined at Stadtlanders Eigensinn Farm on a few occasions in the past and have often found myself comparing the two in terms of being unique and flavourful in their dishes.Personally I was offended when I read the review of April 17th in my 8 years of dining at Barcellos such an experience has never occurred! I would thoroughly recommend Barcellos to anyone with a discerning palate.
Im in my office thinking about the fabulous meal my family and I had this easter weekend, up in cottage country. We had a wonderful dozen Oysters Rockerfeller to start. Heavenly! Once we polished the tray, our steaks on a rock showed up sizzling at our table. We had three different cuts of beef, all aged to perfection. My wifes Tenderloin was like butter in her mouth. My Rib-eye was like a work of art and the Porterhouse was a hefty 24 ounces, grilled to perfection. Over the top! Being from Toronto, we found the prices very affordable for the quality of our evening. I would put this Steakhouse up against any in the GTA. Congratulations Chef and Staff at Barcelos Restaurant. The service was proffesional and we will definitely be back with a large party of foodies.
Where’s the beef?. My experience was less than expected. This was the first and last time we’ll visit this restaurant. My wife found the Salmon ok, however my fillet minion was terrible. I have had a lot of meals and eaten a lot of steaks, this one tasted like an old cow. When I sent it back, the owner had the gall to give it right back and charge me full price as well. For a $100 meal you would expect a lot more.
Valentines at Barcelos. We had a party of 8 for Valentines last night at Barcelos and it was fabulous!What a great evening out for all of us. The food and service were wonderful and we all agreed that we will be returning very soon.
