I’ve ordered from this place twice in the last few months. My first experience was terrible. When I called, the girl taking the order wasn’t listening and kept talking to someone else. They weren’t able to make the first two vegetarian dishes I ordered (albeit being on their menu.) She offered meat options which I told her I couldn’t eat, but I picked another vegetarian dish she said they could make. The food that was delivered was the meat dishes I had declined over the phone, so I had to call back and wait for them to redeliver. The food that was redelivered was okay, but bland for Indian food. I decided to give it another try as it gets fairly good reviews on here and I love Indian food. Once again, they screwed up part of the order but I didn’t bother calling back because it was an appetizer. The food was bland again so I won’t be trying again. Maybe going in to the actual restaurant is better.
I had the takeout Veggie Korma and Rasmali and it was absolutely delicious. Really good indian food. Would highly recommend to those looking for a great indian restaurant in Ottawa.
Went on a Sat night, wasn’t too busy. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly we were served our food! The veggie options were plentiful, but contained a lot of dairy. Their rice is not made with ghee, which is a plus. The veggie pakoras were heavenly.
Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now and I was not disappointed. We ordered aloo tiki, lamb curry, a veggie dish, onion parothas and jamboos. Each dish was delicious, although I found their medium level of spiciness to be quite hot and that obscured the taste somewhat. I have been eating spicy food all my life but I’ll know to order mild next time. The service was slow even though we were there before the dinner rush started. A friend joined us later and had to wait far too long for her dish to arrive, although she said it tasted great. The servers were okay, not that friendly. Will definately be back.
Nearly no customer service (multiple bad experiences), good food though. Food is very good, but the service is very bad. Since we love to food so much we were frequenting this place often, but each time had very slow service and almost ignored. Had to ask for water multiple times even though there was only three tables being served. Recently ordered food for delivery and they were TWO hours late, despite a couple of calls made (one at the 1 hour and 15 minute mark and another closer to the 2 hour mark). Our order was over $160 for a party. We live very close to Aahar and they blamed the food being late on the delivery guy but the delivery guy said he had JUST gotten the food for delivery. Not sure who was lying, but still not impressed that they didn’t call us to let us know about the delay or let me know the first time I called. We did ask for a discount and at first they would only offer a gift certificate for our next purchase (unacceptable in my opinion). At this point I felt they had lied to me and had already decided to not order from them again. Husband had to go to restaurant to demand a discount on our food (we had pre-paid). Not impressed with customer service and all our friends at our party said they would no longer eat there as well. This is too bad because despite the warm food, the taste was still good. They lost the business of 7 families that night.07 Mar, 2015Customer Service bad, food is good. Food is very good, but the service is very bad. Easily the BEST Indian Cuisine in Town!. Aahar is definitely a must try! Food is always great quality wise, and the servers are always kind and attentive. I decided to order delivery the last few times I was craving Indian, the food arrived on time and was delicious like always! Next time you’re looking for authentic Indian Cuisine, definitely consider Aahar!!!
Don’t even bother. Hi kids! Want to wait 1 hour and 50 minutes for cold food, be lied to over the phone and end up generally pissed off? Boy, do I have the place for you!I don’t mind waiting. I was told an hour, called back after an hour and 10 minutes, was told the order was en route, and waited an additional 40 minutes (I live 3 km away, so even with a generous buffer it is clear the person who took my call, by her tone and the additional wait time, just flat out lied) for food I had to reheat by the time I got it because it was ice cold.Never again. Far better Indian food is available in this city anyway. Mia’s, or Namaste, among many others. You’ve lost one customer Aahar. Have fun trying to survive with this level of service!
