I’ve been here twice, most recently on Sunday for a family dinner.The restaurant is located near a busy corner east of downtown and adjacent to a larger commercial plaza. This is a plus because the location provides ample convenient parking.The site has been the location of several restaurants previously and this recent incarnation takes up about half the building. It’s not overly large but it is welcoming. Lots of wood, open concept – the kitchen is immediately adjacent to the dining area and is visible as you’re waiting for your food.Service both times has been friendly and pleasant although the time from order to table varied; the first time was very quick, Sunday much less so.On both occasions the food has been quite good – the menu contains a mix of burgers and sandwiches as well as some entrees. Both visits got positive marks for food quality and the group sampled from a variety of the menu choices.Billie Jax also offers a nice selection of craft beer, which is another plus in my book.Overall the cost is reasonable (about $160 for 6 including bar and tip); I’ll give them a pass on the service issue this visit since I’ve seen it better on the prior occasion. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.
