To be clear, the owner, Penny, did not charge me for my fixed price meal. That was kind, but considering how awful it was, I felt like she should have paid me for actually eating it. I ordered salad and salmon. How can you mess up the two easiest things to cook? And yet they did- TWICE! The salad was underwhelming- the things inside the bowl didn’t quite match the description which promised tender greens with poached pears, hazelnuts and goat cheese. There were greens, but I had to cut them up several times to get them to fit on a fork. There were three pieces of poached pear, perhaps a half teaspoon worth, and roughly the same amount of goat cheese. There were two hazelnuts. The citrus vinaigrette was awful. It had this chemically aftertaste that you usually get with bottled dressing that’s been made with aspartame or worse, stevia. The salmon on tropical rice was very small in portion, maybe 3.5 oz. The tropical rice had nothing tropical about it, with chickpeas, a bit of allspice and just altogether too much heat. I couldn’t eat it, and I enjoy eating jalapeos. I had to take my plate to the back of the restaurant and flagged another server. She promised to get some coconut rice. I went back to my table, looking forward to creamy, coconut rice. I did not get that. It was jasmine rice that wasn’t fully steamed, with some dry unsweetened coconut shreds on it.My son and husband enjoyed their meals, for which I was grateful. It was, however, my Mother’s Day Dinner. I left very disappointed. You couldn’t pay me to return. Save your money and your caloric intake and go anywhere besides this place. You take a look at my plate of salmon, dry rice, and some sauce and tell me if you’d be happy paying $49 for that and a terrible salad.
Absolutely amazing. Had a Christmas staff party here. I was 100% satisfied. The food was great. The service was great I actually have reservations for December.
