  • Party Of Two

I had the pleasure of trying this wonderful new restaurant recently in the town of Whitby. Indique is a small family owned Indian restaurant, which I believe will end up becoming one of the most popular places to eat in town. We arrived on a Saturday evening at 5 PM. The place was empty. We were the first people for dinner. However, as soon as we opened the door the waiter Mani greeted us with the most brilliant smile and welcoming manner that we instantly knew that we would enjoy ourselves. Service was very friendly and efficient. The mango juice tasted freshly squeezed. Our appetizer was a platter of onion Bhahji, samosas, vegetable pakora which was prepared in a manner I’ve not tried before (boy was it good!) and deep fried spinach patties for which I cannot remember the name. The appetizer platter was displayed with care and a little bit of flair with some green palm leaves adorning the plate. For our main course, as a party of two we ordered Jeera rice which is basmati with toasted cumin seeds, garlic naan which was prepared to perfection, the staple of Indian restaurants, buttered chicken and chicken tikka masala. The spices and the textures were so amazing that I was surprised that it came from such a young restaurant. The portions were generous, very tasty, and presented in traditional copper pots that are so common in Indian restaurants. I enjoyed a cold Kingfisher beer with my meal and certainly enjoyed my time. The restaurant is bright and very clean with lovely white linens on the tables and linen napkins. There is an element of understated elegance even though the restaurant is located in a strip mall. I understand it has been opened for one month. I am confident that this fine Indian restaurant will provide continued great service and fantastic Indian dining. My only complaint would be that the music played was not traditional Indian which is always a delight to listen to when dining out. That would be the only thing I would change.I heartily encourage you to try this wonderful new Indian restaurant in Whitby. You will not be disappointed.

Greet place to dine with friends or family. Top notch service levels! Appetizers :- Assorted Bhajia and Achari chicken Tikka is finger licking! Chicken Masala Gravy with Jeera Rice n Naan was a good combo. Nicely marinated n cooked chicken which is tender and delicious! Butter naan was so soft all you need is 3 fingers to eat 🙂 Have a great dining experience at this new Indian restaurant in town!!
